The Quakers are the proof that this surveillance has NOTHING to do with
terror or terrorism. Quakers are peaceful, Quakers are non-violent, Quakers are anti-war. If this government is willing to spy on Quakers, then they are, quite simply, willing to spy on any and all who DISAGREE with them. This is an abuse of power, it is illegal and we are all less safe with these fascists at the helm of our country.

2. they were spying on Friends?
that is incredibly uncool, kind of like the 60s all over again.

I marched for peace with my friends, the Friends, after the war started, and it is astonishing to me that any organization could think of them as a risk of any kind. That's just sad. :(

do you have a link?

3. Don't forget they actually got a warrant to spy on the Quakers
What we're concerned with is the warrantless snooping. Since the FISA court was a rubberstamp for the powerless and unknown, you can bet they bypassed that court to spy on the powerful and famous.

When Congress finally twigs to that one, we'll see some action.

6. I guess they mean they're a "threat" to the war machine.
Because the peace movement's ultimate goal is to put them out of business.

10. Don't be so Naive!
Quakers are just a front for the most vicious, violent cadre of killers in America.

Who do you think recruits and trains the gangs that mug and kill old ladies in Pennsylvannia?

They are the big secret investors in the military industrial complex. All that money from the sale of oatmeal goes right into the production of cruise missiles that get sold to the Air Force for a huge profit.

So, understand that the Bush regime spying on the Quakers is just a clever way to make it look like they are peaceful and non-violent and are political dissenters ... but now you know they really aren't.
