Aesop lands in the 21st century
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a wolf spied a lamb pumping oil in the mid-eastern region of a small blue planet…. While the wolf’s unquenchable greed was quite enough motivation to attack the small creature, on this particular planet, one needed excuses for invasions. First, the wolf needed to get closer to the lamb. This was easy. An animal who resided near to the lamb had sent fools, bent on suicide to commandeer spacecrafts and crash them into wolf buildings. The wolf simply attacked that other animal’s stomping grounds first. Then, after occupying the neighboring pasture, the wolf started his rhetoric against the lamb: “You have weapons of mass destruction,” howled the wolf! No! cried the lamb and “UN inspections have proven it's just not true.”

Here is where the wolf really lied by claiming to have good “intelligence” on the matter, because the wolf was devoid of intelligence. In fact, most animals on the small blue planet knew the wolf was the stupidest animal in the forest. Still, his lunatic ravings filled the airwaves. The wolf then decided to try to convince other animals to support his attack but they were not so easy to fool. Only the weakest, most servile critters in the international forest were coerced into supporting the attack.

Nothing would deter the wolf. He went on to accuse the lamb of destroying Kurdish grasslands. The lamb cried, “But you supported my regime at that time and acted like a friend!” The wolf simply replied, “I’ve supported many monsters in the region… Have you ever heard of the Shaw of Iranian Sheep?”

With that final statement, the wolf descended on lamb and began to tear him to pieces! The really odd thing is that while attacking the lamb, the wolf suggested he could become a friend to ALL sheep in the region by replacing the system of government in the lamb’s pasture. In unison, other mid-eastern sheep cried, “ANY EXCUSE WILL SERVE A TYRANT!”

Aesop might end his story here but in the continuing saga of wolfdom the moral shall be “YOU CAN’T TEACH AN OLD DOG, errr I mean wolf, NEW TRICKS! That same wolf keeps using lame excuses to attack anyone, even fellow wolves, who oppose him and any excuse will do just fine.
