I was on a flight and i was asking this captain about his beliefs on why the different books of the bible have different accounts of what went on and he said "you are thinking about it too academically" and i said .. oh ok and then he said something about bush and i said "thats my christmas wish.. that bush would be put in jail" and he said "oh you ARE such an academic"
like it was a bad thing to be

and they like bush because he speaks "like one of the guys" and they made fun of kerry because he spoke so correctly
since when was being an academic a BAD thing???

if you really want to learn about the topic, google is your friend - at least as a start.

Most Bible study groups start out the first year discussing your question - and are therefore a great source for an answer.
