A Great Miracle Happened There
On December 25th, the 25th of the Hebrew month Kislev, at 4:33pm EST, 4:24pm CST, 4:40pm MST, 4:49pm PST, 3:43pm AKST (Alaska), and 5:56pm HST (Hawai'i), Jews in the US will celebrate the first day of Channukah!

"Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to kindle the light of Hanukkah." "Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, who performed miracles for our fathers in those days, at this time." "Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the Universe, who has granted us life and sustenance and permitted us to reach this season."

"Spin, spin, spin...if it lands on GIMEL, everybody wins!"

Happy Channukah!

Don't forget, there is a Jewish forum at DU. You should want it to be neglected? Call your mother, she worries! :)

6. The only downside is the feeling of wax dripping on my fingers...
Wouldn't be Hanukkah without it!

8. Not together I hope!
Happy Chanukah to all

Most Jews also recite the Schehecyanu on the first night of Chanukkah.

It is a prayer of thanks to G-d for keeping us alive to celebrate the holiday.

Enjoy everyone!
