The DLC and PNAC share the same origin
Edited on Sun Dec-25-05 02:53 PM by LunaC
Current PNAC members were proteges of Henry ("Scoop”) Jackson and Daniel Patrick (“Pat”) Moynihan

“…look at the 1970s, when the neo-conservatives in the Democratic Party grouped themselves into the Coalition for a Democratic Majority (CDM). The CDM's two leading lights in Congress were the Democratic Senators Henry "Scoop" Jackson and Patrick Moynihan. The Cold Warrior and fanatically pro-Israel Jackson remains the model for the DLC crowd today. The DLC's former President, Sen. Joe Lieberman declares he is proud to be identified as a " 'Scoop' Jackson Democrat." It was these two Senators' offices that housed the Leo Straussian "Children of Satan" behind the no-exit Iraq War.

From Jackson's staff came:

* Paul Wolfowitz, now Deputy Secretary of Defense and a leading Straussian chicken-hawk;

* Richard Perle (on Jackson's staff from 1969 until going into the Defense Department in 1981), and until his recent forced
resignation, chairman of Rumsfeld's Defense Policy Board. It is reported that Perle maintains Democratic Party membership
to this day, out of fealty to Scoop. Perle later brought along Doug Feith, now Rumsfeld's Undersecretary for Policy, who has
been a Perle "groupie" since the late 1970s, largely due to Feith's family background deep in the terrorist movement
founded by Zionist fascist Vladimir Jabotinsky. In the 1980s, Feith financed Perle through the International Advisers Inc.,
a firm in which Feith was the only stockholder;

* Frank Gaffney, who heads the Center for Security Policy, a "private" neo-con group which cheerleads for imperial wars and
brutally anti-Palestinian policies;

From Moynihan's office came:

* Elliott Abrams, an Iran/Contra convict who now tries to shape Administration Middle East policy from the National Security
Council staff;

* Abram Shulsky, who heads the Office of Special Plans under Feith in the Pentagon, which concocted fraudulent intelligence
estimates used by the Administration to justify the Iraq War;

* Gary Schmitt, the head of the empire-promoting Project for a New American Century and a close collaborator of Shulsky.
Schmitt worked under Roy Godson of the National Strategy Information Center in the early 1980s. Anti-LaRouche operative
Godson was active in the CDM in the 1970s, narrowly escaped prosecution in the Iran-Contra scandals of the 1980s, and now
is a consultant to Feith and Shulsky's Office of Special Plans.

Many thanks to Octafish for putting me on the trail of “Scoop” Jackson and inspiring me to stumble onto this discovery. I was pretty shocked to learn how the DLC and PNAC share the same heritage. Now I have a better understanding of Lieberman - he's from the Democratic branch of PNAC!

While rooting around on Google, I also discovered that Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfowitz, Abramowitz and Carlucci were part of the Balkan Action Committee which brought us the war against Yugoslavia just because the Caspian region has the world's largest untapped oil reserves. These bastards have been fucking up the world in the pursuit of oil for a long time!

My past emails to Randi have always been "returned - undeliverable" so I don't know how to contact her.

3. Bingo!
Could this be the reason that we never hear much about the PNAC from the Dem. talking heads?

Could this be the reason the Dem's are so cowardly afraid of taking on the right wing nazis that bully them so?

Could it be, that there really isn't two parties after all? Is that why the DNC & DLC don't seem to care about losing?

I've wondered just what exactly the wing nuts have had on our party for some time now.

11. That doesn't mean it isn't true
You'd probably say the same thing about the link in my sig line but that would only cause me to dismiss your opinion as narrrow-minded, blind, delusional, in denial or all of the above.

12. prove it, I mean she asked you to tear it up and that is your best reply?
I'd love to see which parts are rubbish. Cause that hones our truths all the more to a finer point. If I am going to get a knife in the back from the DLC I want my knife to be twice as hard and and sharp. So school us a bit so we know which argument can't be refuted during primaries. Thanks for all your help in this.

17. Nothing "conspiratorial" about this..........
Neoconservative Legacy

Jackson's hard line on the Soviet Union and his strong support for Israel made him a favorite of an increasingly influential group of formerly liberal but strongly anti-Communist intellectuals and politicians who came to be known as the neoconservatives. Many neoconservatives who supported Jackson's presidential bids gravitated to Ronald Reagan and the Republican party after Jackson's defeats. Among these were Richard Perle, a longtime Jackson staffer who worked under Dorothy Fosdick, Jackson's top foreign policy adviser, and Paul Wolfowitz, another member of the Jackson circle, both of whom went on to play prominent roles developing Middle East policy in the George W. Bush administration.

22. Here's an interesting clip from the article
By Feb. 25, knowing that massive opposition was growing
internationally against the war, the neo-cons went into action.
Key to success was preventing an opposition--especially from
Congressional Democrats--from taking steps. The DLC and SDUSA
linked up to push the Iraq War to the Democrats, with a letter to
President Bush. It was signed by Will Marshall, President of the
DLC's Progressive Policy Institute; SDUSA's Penn Kemble; and the
worst of the neo-conservative war-mongers, including the Defense
Policy Board's James Woolsey; and American Enterprise Institute
luminaries Max Kampelman, Michael Novak, Joshua Muravchik. Though
the letter paid lip-service to winning "allies," it said, "We
share the view that it is essential to bring Saddam Hussein's
dictatorship in Iraq to an early end.... We must act alone if that
proves necessary." Once again, the DLC, backed by its leading
member, Sen. Joe Lieberman, was there to keep the opposition
silent.
