Amazing read at MinstrelBoy place Letourneau's Strange Family/Bush Gov
I posted this in another thread

there Sydnie asks

Please start one in GD. This info needs to get out there and there is so much more than 9/11 info. The Blackwater tie in, the Grassley investigation, the representation of George the Father in Iran Contra ...

Don't let the title deter you from reading, I did for over a month but finally was bored yesterday and took a peek. Very very interesting.

1. Let me get this straight: MK Letourneau is Jeb's sister-in-law by
marriage. This must make Noelle look good by comparison.

2. This is almost surreal
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 12:40 PM by Boomer
I was especially struck by this statement about Letourneau's reaction to her father's behavior:

>> In the shadow of this scandal, Mary Kay took her father's side. She told friends of hers that her mother was a cold person and denied her father the affection he needed and deserved as a husband. When talking about it, she would comment, "She drove him to it." <<

That was almost word-for-word the same rationale a friend of mine used to excuse her father for sexually abusing her as a child. It was all her mother's fault and what could her poor father do but turn to her?

So I'd bet Mary Kay was sexually abused by dear old daddy, which is why her own view of "appropriate" sexual behavior is so screwed up.

4. Against my better judgment I went to read your link. It is absolutely
fascinating. It has all the components of a really cheesy novel - affairs, illegitimate children, right wing wackos right in the middle of the Bush administration, pedophilia, child abuse, etc.

Jeb Bush's sister-in-law is married to Letourneau's brother? Illegitimate children of Letourneau's father adopted by Jean Dixon? Her brother a ranking member in Chimpy's administration redesigned official seals while ignoring budget shortfalls (surprise!). Another brother helped (along with Rehnquist's daughter) cover up Bush41's involvement in Iran-Contra? Jeeze, Louise, the worst hack writer in the world couldn't make this shit up.

Of course, the right wing Christian Taliban will find a hundred ways to excuse all of this. Funny read. Thanks.

7. How odd.
Mary Kay LeTourneau's brother is married to Jeb Bush's Mexican-born sister-in-law.

Just one among the many very odd things in this series of articles.

As for Mary Kay's father, we already knew he was a sick (republican) puppy. Sad about how his child by his mistress was treated.

Tourniquet syndrome—accident or abuse?
Anne Klusmann1 and Hans-Gerd Lenard1

(1) University Childrens Hospital, Heinrich-Heine-University, Moorenstrasse 5, 40225 Düsseldorf, Germany

Received: 6 January 2004 Accepted: 8 April 2004 Published online: 4 June 2004

Abstract The tourniquet syndrome describes severe strangulations of appendages by hair, cotton or similar material mainly observed in young infants. The painful swellings of digits or external genitals are surgical emergencies because the strangulation can cause ischaemia and tissue necrosis. More than 100 cases of the tourniquet syndrome have been reported in most of which the aetiology was unclear. We have treated five patients with a tourniquet syndrome. Four of them presented with strangulations of one or more toes by hair or threads and one girl was diagnosed with a clitoral tourniquet syndrome. In each case the strangulating material could be removed in time avoiding permanent damage. The lack of any reasonable explanation and the meticulous wrapping made a non-accidental course very likely. Due to the lack of convincing explanations in our cases as well as in most of those described in the literature, we suggest that the tourniquet syndrome is often the result of child abuse, an aetiology overlooked for decades. Conclusion:the tourniquet syndrome in childhood should be included in the list of possible forms of child abuse and should be considered as a differential diagnosis until another aetiology can be convincingly proven.

I knew that her dad was a politician who had a second family but I had never heard that story about his son and how he was abused. That is horrific.

And the deal about her brother being related to the BFEE? Is that verified anywhere? All I saw was a claim but no proof. Did I just skim through too fast?

19. Just when you think that things can't get any weirder or twisted when it
comes to the connections and deviance as it relates to the "Moral Majority" and the BFEE, it gets cranked up a notch...

Reading this made my brain hurt....the scary thing is that given what we have been living through in this nightmare of the last 5 years, nothing, nothing is surprising anymore....

I always thought Letourneau must have been a victim of sexual abuse as a child and when I had heard about her "Politician Father" who fathered a second family, I knew there was a story there...but wow, I had no idea that was the story! It actually made me feel bad for Mary Kay.....a victim who went on to commit abuse herself to an underage victim. I just pray that she has gotten help and that now that she and the boy who is an adult now, have gotten counseling and that her girls a) never see their grandfather b) that they are never abused.

Meanwhile the Bush family connections, the Blackwater deal etc....too effing weird, but nothing, nothing surprises me anymore....I think the things going on behind the scenes with these people in the BFEE are so creepy and would freak anybody out...anybody who had a conscience....And as I type these words, I don't know why, but a flash of Gonzo (Hunter Thompson) just came to mind....weird...

23. The law firm "Baker Botts" rang a bell for me....check out this link....
...<http://www.publicaffairsbooks.com/publicaffairsbooks-cgi-bin/display?book=1586481886>

QUOTE:

"No other province holds more political and economic power than the Lone Star State. Two of the last three American presidents—and three of the last eight—have been Texans. Each of them got to the White House by exploiting a network of money and power that no other state can match.

In Cronies, renowned investigative reporter Robert Bryce illuminates how Texas turned its vast energy resources into political power, and how a small group of Texas corporations, lawyers and politicians use that power to protect and defend their own economic interests. Through an absorbing narrative that moves from the days of the oil boom, through the rise and reign of LBJ, to today, Bryce profiles the Texans and the Texas corporations who have wielded—and continue to wield—great power in America's domestic and foreign policy, including the Bushes, James A. Baker III, Halliburton, Baker Botts, Ray Hunt, Bell Helicopter, and more. He shows how massive transfers of wealth from the rest of the country to Texas have allowed the state to prosper. Cronies demonstrates how George W. Bush is the living embodiment of Texas' crony networks, and how those networks continue to play critical roles in the 21st century."

Baker Botts is the law firm of James Baker III, the guy that shows up in the Bush I administration, and maneuvered the NeoCon coup of December 13, 2000, with the help of the U. S. Supreme Court.

26. Congressman Schmitz. Too right wing for John Birch.
Schmitz found he had a great talent for garnering controversy merely by opening his mouth. He called the Watts riots a year later “a communist operation.” In 1968 he said California Governor Ronald Reagan was unsuitable for President because Reagan had abandoned conservative principles. He said, “Jews are like everybody else, only more so.” Schmitz was anti-immigrant, anti-women’s lib, anti-communist, anti-black, anti-homo. He named his dog Kaiser and thought that giving a Hitler salute was a good joke.

In June of 1970, still in the state Senate, Schmitz won a special election to fill the seat left vacant by the reactionary Rep. James B. Utt who had died in office. He won the regular 1970 election as well, and moved his family to Washington. His tiny reactionary stone created barely a ripple in the great pond of Congress. His politics alienated even his most prominent constituent, President Richard Nixon, of San Clemente, CA. When Nixon went to China Schmitz quipped, “I have no objection to President Nixon going to China. I just object to his coming back.” This didn’t just sink him in the eyes of Nixon and the Republican party; his own constituents abandoned him, and Schmitz was not nominated to run for the house seat in 1972.

His loss in the primary led Schmitz to seek the highest office in the land on the American Independent Party the same year. The party was originally a vehicle for George Wallace’s second know-nothing assault on the two-party system. But Wallace dropped out after an assassin’s bullet left him crippled. When Schmitz’s lackluster presidential bid garnered only a million votes nationwide, he noted that this was more votes than George Washington ever received. Then he slunk back to lick his wounds and teach embittered civics lessons to credulous conservatives-in-training at Santa Ana.

By 1978 he was back in the California state senate, making trouble and saying things so outrageous that even the John Birch Society kicked him out. When Reagan was elected president, Schmitz was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt: “A good military coup might be the best we could hope for if President Reagan’s policies are not successful. A lot of people can’t imagine anything like that happening in our country. These same people could never imagine themselves stealing to stay alive.”

http://www.goodbyemag.com/jan01/schmitz.html

Growing up in southern California, I remember this demagogue. Doesn't surprise me in the slightest that the Schmitz family would have ties to the BFEE. The Letourneau connection is surprising, though after reading the details of these articles, it makes perfect sense.

Thanks seemslikeadream! It's been a Merry Fitzmas indeed!
