8. Oh I would have to disagree.
Sure, W could get the win for his mishandling of intelligence, FEMA, tax cuts, and the war on Iraq, but Douchebag O'Reilly hands down gets moran of the year for 2005. Why? First he advocates blowing up San Fransisco for banning military recruting (on campus, that crucial little detail he left out). Then he goes and tries to further that comment by starting a Nixon-style enemies list.

And the "war" on Christmas just got way beyond ridiculous to the point where he literally was just making shit up. Oh, and let's not forget that he even went so far as to list offending stores that were not saying "Merry Christmas" while HIS OWN WEBSITE said "Happy Holidays".

Robert Novak gets a close second nom for his "I think that's bullshit" meltdown on CNN.

5. That's a TOUGH one ...
... so many MORANS, so little posting space.

I guess we can all safely assume that Georgie is at the top of the list.

For the No. 2 spot, I have a tie nomination:

TOM DELAY - What kind of MORAN judge-shops for weeks, thereby delaying his own trial, and then whines about how he didn't get a speedy hearing?

BILL FRIST - What kind of MORAN dumps his own 'blind trust' stock, conveniently when it's about to tank, and doesn't think he'll get caught? Answer: The same MORAN who funnelled 'charitable donations' into the pockets of political cronies -- again thinking no one would EVER catch on!

Political moran
Media moran
etc.

14. If we're going to go with categories ...
... I have to nominate Mann Coulter for MORAN AUTHOR of the YEAR.

She's so delusional, she honestly thinks that the public buys her books. I have a friend in the publishing industry, who assured me that 'Slander' (along with other Coulter fantasy-novels) was sold by the millions in 'bulk' orders; i.e. various right-wing groups order thousands of copies at a time, just to move her books up the bestseller charts so as to counter books like Hillary's and Bill's autobiographies, and other left-wing tomes.

Where do they end up? I live in Toronto, and when 'Slander' was allegedly in the Top Five bestsellers, there were cartons and cartons of them available in 'liquidation' discount stores all over the city --selling for three bucks a pop.

12. Hands down, Jackass O'Reilly wins this year.
See post #8 for my reasons why.

Some other noms I have:

Robert Novak - For walking out on his interview on CNN. I watched that "I think that's bullshit" clip so many times that it's burned into my memory.

Michael Brown - For turning New Orleans into a total wasteland up to and following Hurricane Katrina, then finger-pointing the Dems by saying that it was all Clinton's fault, even though it's blatantly obvious that it was a major fuck-up for all parties involved.

Bill Frist - For, among other things, diagnosing Terri Schiavo by a two-hour video tape that was taken 5 years ago, then giving a passionate speech on the senate floor once her feeding tape was removed to sign a health care bill that would only affect one person.

Tom Delay - For starting a phony PAC devoted to having a "Republican majority", then laundering funds through it, so it appears that not only his PAC is total bullshit, but he himself is full of it, too.
