my lovable redneck neighbor has turned sour on bush
to hear him talk, he's sorry he voted once for bush, in 2000, and he's made a complete about face and said that bush has gone too far and thinks he's the king now and he's telling everyone who will listen that bush should be impeached and jailed. i almost fell on the floor to hear him say it, and i'm slightly encouraged by it.

even among his former devotees, bush has shit in the punch bowl once too often, and even those that brung him to the dance are embarassed and tired of his stupid ass.

1. The next election is ours to lose.
I hope our party can get it's priorities together by 2008.

4. The next election is 2006
Removing this smirking Chimpenstein from office is the priority.

WWIII could be going by 2008 or we DUers could all be in prison camps by then.

Peace and Impeachment 06. That's my meme.

7. 2006 is the big tamale. the rethuglicans are oh-so fond of litmus tests,
Edited on Wed Dec-28-05 07:35 AM by Raster
fine! Let's make 2006 the mother of all litmus tests and a grand referendum on the bush* pResidency. And here's how we do it:

  1. force EVERY sitting congress-critter up for reelection to publicly identify how they would vote on articles of impeachment. We must pay VERY SPECIAL attention to those rethuglicans that were a part of the Clinton impeachment farce. We must have their words and commentary in front of the media as much as possible. Every little sanctimonious crack they made about lying, about breaking the law or about presidents stepping outside of their lawful boundaries should be force fed to the media at every juncture. In particular, the hypocritical ramblings of bugman delay should be shoved down America's throat. Everyone in America needs to be forced to realize that one of the main proponents of bringing down a president for lying about a consensual sexual act would willfully shred the Constitution to keep his greedy cronies wallowing at the public trough. And we need to make mainstream America understand that this is far worse than just a few rotten apples.

  2. force EVERY potential congress-critter to publicly proclaim how they would stand on voting for articles of impeachment. If we have a potential congress critter that won't identify or identifies as bush* is OK, we target all resources possible to prevent their election.

  3. we saturate the media with evidence of the media's past complicity in the Clinton sham and highlight their current collaboration with bushco*. The illegal boy-king would have never made it this far without the aid of the MSM. They must be made to feel the pain. We must expose them for what they are: tools and collaborators. Eventually something will make it through the white noise.

9. Just talking about the next prez.
In the two houses I see about a 4 - 6 seat increase giving us the majority again. If some of our elected officials will grow a pair, and at least get the ball rolling towards an impeachment, there is no Republican candidate that would want to be associated with this administration. There'll be lots of infighting, saying "we were lied to" too and the party will begin to self destruct. However, if our side chooses to keep making enemies with "middle Americans", then get ready for those prison camps my friend.

20. He's the only viable candidate they have.....
...unless they want to use a celebrity gimmick type thing like they did with "Ahhnold" there in California because they knew that they had nobody else that could win. They did it before with Reagan, who do they have, born in America on their side now?

Bruce Willis?

22. Drew Carey/Britney Spears 2008
Edited on Wed Dec-28-05 09:36 AM by emulatorloo
or Ben Stein/Patricia Heaton 2008

I am sure Britney would bring out the family values vote.

<snip>

In the "Republicans in Hollywood" documentary, Heaton says that at a recent dinner party she casually mentioned that she supports Bush. The reaction, she said, was as if she had just defecated at the table.

<snip>

Poor Patricia, so persecuted. LOL

11. Au contraire!
We need a populist democrat, or independent. What we don't need is another worm from the DLC, or a triangulating wimp, or a wealthy corporate shill.

12. I'm really confused by this attitude....
..on one hand we as democrats and liberals are chastised and reprimanded (rightfully so) everytime someone makes an assumption about the south, particularly as it relates to intelligence or racism or fundamentalism, etc. And despite being a northerner through and through, I completely agree with that. Stupid, ill informed people are everywhere north, south, east west.

I think that no matter where someone is from, if that person is liberal and/or democratic leaning that they are more than likely an intelligent, smart person who chooses to keep themselves informed enough to know when they are voting for what is best for them and what is best for the country.

Yet despite that, people from the south (assuming you are from the south) tell us that we "have to have a southerner on the ticket" more often than not saying the person at the top of the ticket has to be from the south. This seems to me to be mixed messages. If people from the south are no different than people from the north and are just as politically astute and aware and intelligent (which they are), then why do they NEED to have someone who sounds and acts like them at the top of the ticket?

It seems to me that it can't be had both ways and this continues to perplex me.

16. I think Austin, qualifies as the South.
I have no geographical test, I agree that good solid principles are valid, irregardless of the birthplace/residence of the candidate. On the other hand, * may have poisoned the electorate against southern candidates for the immediate future.

21. I love reading stories like this
on DU cause I sure haven't heard any in my town in New York.

Most of the people around here that I know voted for Gore and then Kerry but I haven't heard any good instances where someone has come to see bush for what he is. I think the ones who voted for bush would just as soon see him in hell as admit he's a liar and a mass murderer.

Otherwise he's just like bush, an empty bag which cannot stand upright.
