Clark: Rumsfeld's leaked memo acknowledges Bush has no long-term strategy
Responding to the memo, President Bush and some U.S. lawmakers praised the defense secretary, saying he is raising the kind of tough questions expected of someone in his position.

The ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Joseph Biden welcomed what he termed an "epiphany" of self-doubt from Mr. Rumsfeld. Senator Biden (D-Delaware) said it was different from the sort of self-assurance the secretary has communicated to Congress.

Democratic presidential candidate and retired Army General Wesley Clark said Mr. Rumsfeld was simply acknowledging that the Bush administration has no plan for Iraq and no long-term strategy for fighting terrorism.

1. Actually
Clark makes perfect sense. I feel that Bush can only protect the homeland with Ashcroft as Attorney General, but other than that, I don't think he can stop the terrorists from getting a Nuclear Bomb. That is why the international diplomatic infrastructure was SO imporatnt.

4. wars against abstractions are unwinnable...
that's just a simple fact. As a society, we need to stop declaring wars on abstract concepts, and work towards enlightened policies and practices. That is the only way we will ever make the world a safer place.

6. Their only "strategy"
is to spin and manipulate and lie to try and get * "re"elected. Everything else they do is secondary to that goal.

7. Was it leaked?
I've seen the multiple threads and read some of it, but how did it come to light?

If it was leaked, that means the "leaker" is reeeaaaaallll tight with Rummy. How many people would get this type of memo? Not many. Did I just answer my own question? You bet. WHOA! That Rummy is some powerful force.

It just seems all wrong, if you know what I mean. Rummy doesn't give an ounce of worthwhile info for 3 years and them wammo, his "inner voice" appears for all to see?

A smell a whiff of politics, or disinformation, not sure which.

9. Bush doesn't even have long term memory.
It will definitely be a short term for him.

10. Good for Clark!
And shame on Biden. This corrupt administration experiences no "epiphanies," and these "tough questions" are one that you, Brainiac, are supposed to be asking and demanding the answers to.

Clark is doing the right thing, banging on this memo. Don't let it just disappear into the Memory Hole, but drag it out into the open and hold these bastards accountable for the thousands and thousands of people they've killed for no apparent reason!
