Faux to roll out "Fox News Radio" next year.
Tony Snow announced on "Faux and Friends" this morning that negotiations were recently completed for him to have a 3 hour daily radio show on the new Fox News Radio Network. He said it has been his dream to have a radio show. How much more right-wing radio can we tolerate without demanding a return of the fairness doctrine?

2. How long before the wingnuts pull the plug on NPR?
Congressional wingnuts control the spending . . . I gotta believe they would love nothing more than to gut future NPR budgets.

3. They already have a channel on the major satellite radio svcs.
Haven't given any consideration to signing up for either of them, but I see that Sirius has a liberal talk channel called Sirius Left.

5. Judging by Faux's success on propagandizing TV, I'm worried.
I will have to give Faux credit, they are building a successful (measured in viewership)and dangerous TV enterprise. I am concerned they will spread their hate speech on radio. More and more people get their news from radio and Faux knows how to connect with those wingnuts.

7. Hell will freeze over before I subscribe to sat radio.
I put an in-dash MP3 player in my car so I can listen to MY music and ONLY my music 24/7 WITHOUT having to listen to some idiot ClearChannel DJ telling my what a perv Bill Clinton was. I can play my stereo for a week without hearing a repeat. If I want to hear the news, I switch to NPR (I really should send them some money). Screw ClearChannel, screw sat radio (will Siruis Left still exist three years from now?), and screw Tony Snow.

8. The new radio channel will be 24/7 "news and commentary"
Just like at my work, I have to listen to Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity everyday . . . I'm worried that many employers will make their employees listen to Fox News Radio all day.

6. For a preview
Go to your local Ralphs/Kroger and stay for around 5 minutes or so. You are sure to be inundated with a "Fox News Radio Update". However, given their current labor dispute, I don't recommend going there at all.

9. Not a problem
We're honoring the strikes here in So Cal. so we won't be hearing any Faux News updates.

I do give money to NPR. Thank the Gods for All Things Considered, Marketplace, Left Right Center, etc.

We support MoveOn.org's campaign to roll back the FCC ruling.

What are you doing?

Man. How piss poor!

"LIBERALS DON'T SELL!" Yeah, ok...that's why Randi Rhodes is NUMBER ONE in West Palm and Ft. Pierce. That's why Neil Rogers & Jorge Rodrigez are #1 in Miami. That's why Al Franken, Hillary Clinton, Mike Moore, etc. have books that all shoot right to NUMERO FREAKIN UNO BABY!!!!!! But they don't sell...uh huh. AND I AM 19 FEET TALL, MY SKIN COLOR IS GREEN AND I LIVE ON A MOUNTAIN WEST OF FT. LAUDERDALE!

Lu

PS Edit time! How could I possibly forget Bill's DISASTEROUS numbers on radio here in the Palm Beaches (land of the 2000 election fix) where he has, are you ready for this kids: a whopping 200 LISTENERS!!! Did I mention this county has 1.1 MILLION PEOPLE? "LIBERALS DON'T SELL! CLINTON'S PENIS!" Shut up, morons!

13. And then they bought Clear Channel...
Can you imagine? It could happen, I bet.

Faux wouldn't be stupid enough to divy the audience (though there entry now would be an attempt to get after Rush Limbaugh Downey Jr.'s audience).
