Somebody refresh my memory regarding the the Niger nuclear weapons story
I have been out of pocket off and on for almost a month now so I have not been able to keep up with the latest news/events like I usually do. The fact the Niger story was a fake was admitted to being a fake I think last October. Then Bunnypants used it in his State of the Union address which outraged most of us on this board but still not a peep from the media. We then go to war in March and it's "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" on May 1st and supposedly all is well in the Empire. Exactly HOW or why did the fact this blatent lie * used in his State of the Union address actually be brought back up and exposed? I would really like to know. Even though it was brought up how in the hell did this thing actually gain legs and be a major story the last couple of weeks? I seriously would like to know because I have no clue since I wasn't as focused on things as I usually am thanks to my job. Based on the news stories I have googled, the last week or two it almost seems like the media has turned on our beloved Furher. They have covered for his worthless ass 24/7 since the selection of 12/2000 so why not now? Scratching my head here in Oklahoma wondering about this. Something stinks. The greatest propoganda machine in the history of the world that has the naive sheep at it's beckon call does not turn on it's beloved Furher without a reason. That bugs me. Something is going on behind the scenes that we don't know about is my prediction. There is a different agenda here other than coming down hard on Junior for lies. He has been lying 24/7 every since he has been in office and the Corporate media has covered for him and cheered him on every step of the way. Anybody got any ideas on what is REALLY going on here?

1. Very good question
Yes, it indeed seems as if some kind of switch somewhere was flipped. I mean, CNN showing pictures of dead soldiers? That doesn't happen unless someone high up turns on Bush. The focus on the Niger uranium lie is chosen because I believe it is easiest to prove is a fib, as it is based on ludicrously forged documents. As to why the sudden turn?

A) the scandal has let blood, and thus all the media sharks are on a feeding frenzy

B) the fact that this war is not a nice and easy quick win has broken Bush's invincibility

C) the "Powers That Be" feel it is neccessary that the US regain its national standing, and thus the liars are going to be forced out in an attempt to set things straight again.

2. It's a combination of things, I think.
The CIA leaks reached a critical mass (I personally believe the one from CapitolHill Blue - that a guy witnessed bush personally insisting to put the language in there). There were simultaneous leaks to CBS and WaPo on different aspects of the Uranium fake (after the NYT one). So, it was the need for a scoop, and the gloomy reports from the front keep the absurdity of this in people's faces. The fact that the Dems started campaigning so they answered timely and stronly to the news kept the story alive.I believe that the real reason for the CIA insurgency is whatever happends with the 9.11 commission. It's just too many people bushco stepped on getting pissed off at once - syncronicity. I always knew it would be arrogance that will undo the monkey.

3. Wilson's op-ed in the NYT started it
CIA is in rebellion mode.

One story that didn't get much play was from yesterday- The admin was on the way to the Hill, Thurs, I think, to lay out a case against Syria, saying flat out that it's a threat to the region.

The CIA told the press that the case was no good and the meetings were called off. That sounds like war averted and that seems like a very big deal- like they went along for the ride on Iraq but decided not to do it again.

5. War with Syria???
There was a story either today or yesterday of people from this administration going to the Hill to make a case for war with Syria? You have GOT TO BE SHITTING ME!?!?! I didn't see or read of any such attempts. You have a link to the news story? The nerve of these fucking bastards that SHOULD BE FACING IMPEACHMENT proceedings as I type this having the audacity to think it's time to saddle up and kick Syria's ass WHILE our troops are dying daily in Iraq REALLY pisses me off. DAMMIT! Time to break out the Jack Daniels. I refuse to believe they are that stupid. The FUCKS have already started two wars under their watch and they WANT A THIRD?!?! Unbelievable. The way things stand now we would probably get our ass kicked by Syria unless we brought out the nukes. Of course, our Furher once famously said..."I wouldn't put it past me". Probably the only time he has EVER told the truth in his life. God help us all.

4. I agree
Whoever has the CIA in their back pocket is tellling them to knock out the PNAC and their insanity. The oil isn't flowing fast enough. And if the Rummy-Cheney coalition have their way, the world will be complete chaos for decades. There are wiser heads that are losing money over this. As much will be exposed as is necessary to get the proper people out.

I think. I hope. I guess.
