Question for any Denver-area DUers....

A friend of TBTM has been invited to go on the Peter Boyles Show on KHOW in Denver on Monday morning.

I know KHOW is a Clear Channel station, but can't find much on this Boyles guy. Is he a freeper or a moderate?

Any insight to this guy's schtick will decide whether our friend goes on the air or not. Thanks!

My gut tells me he's a puke - the only dem on denver radio was Reggie Rivers and he left right before invasion, because the hate mail and calls were getting to him. He was against the invasion. Then there's the non-clear channel station KNRC - they have a local woman in the afternoon who is liberal.

I don't listen to KHOW, I used to work at Noble Broadcasting, when they owned KHOW, but Boyles was not there at that time.

He's from working class Pittsburg. Was a protege of the murdered talk show host Alan Berg. Being a recovered alcoholic/drug user is central to his personality. Got a master's degree in history from Metropolitan State as an adult and considers himself a history buff.

He had Will Pitt on and acted decently. He has Alan Gilbert from the University of Denver on as a frequent guest. He will shut up when he knows he is outclassed. Alan Gilbert, by the way, was a grad school professor of Condoleezza (he regrets how she turned out). Always bashes Clinton, but it's about this white trash sort of thing he's obsessed with.

He was pro-war but seems to have lightened up on that. He's putting on more callers who express opposition and dissatisfaction now and doesn't cut them off. I don't listen frequently so I really have noticed the change in tone in the last few months.

I used to listen to him regularly during morning workout time several years ago until he got obsessed with the Jon-Benet Ramsey case and styled himself an expert so he could get exposure on national media. He ranted against the parents constantly and wouldn't listen to any opposing viewpoint. Lost respect for him after that.

He was sued by the police union after a series of shows discussing the murder of an innocent man by the SWAT team after they broke into the wrong house. So he doesn't always play it safe, but that was before Clear Channel ownership.
