new insight into the rude rube in the WH
Washington Whispers 11/03/03
By Paul Bedard
Why those Bush state dinners end so early

He has hosted just four elegant, entertainment-filled state dinners so far, but one thing stands out from President Bush's shindigs--he really isn't a partier. But there's more to it than the fact the prez likes to hit the sack early. Insiders reveal that the president isn't much for the fox trot. Chief usher Gary Walters says, "The current president dances less, and dinners are usually over before midnight." But that's not the only reason. National security adviser Condi Rice fessed on oprah a few weeks back that the boss wolfs down chow so fast the dinners can be over lickety-split. "If you're not careful, he'll be on dessert and you're still eating the salad." Rice called Bush an athletic eater: "He watches what he eats, but he just eats it very, very fast." And that's not healthy, according to Bush's trainer, Trish Bearden. Maybe that's why she suggested in the internal White House health newsletter that readers--hint, hint, Mr. President--slooow down, especially when eating. For good measure, aides are circling the "health stylist's" advice and leaving copies in places where W just might see it.

Is this a control thing? Or an ADHD thing? Or did precious Momma Bush chain him outside on a leash while the rest of the family ate dinn

2. Alls I know...
is he was not elected. He was appointed by the conservatives on the Supreme Court that took hold over the last 30 years.

Well fuck that. Well fuck the electoral college. This shit is just not working. The ignorant (conservative) and apathetic (non-voting) in this country keep this stupid shit going.

4. he and the family are just plain boorish
he has no appreciation of the subleties of taste or, for that matter the efforts or talents of the chef--he is just - churlish, coarse, crass, crude, gross, ill-bred, indelicate, philistine, rough, rude, tasteless, uncivilized, uncouth, uncultivated, uncultured, unpolished, unrefined, vulgar.

5. unrefined? Barbara?
Now now.

Cher

p.s. I sent that picture to my friend in Houston with the subject line "Trick or Treat!" and she wrote back that she runs into BB all the time. Last time was at Staples. So BFEE steals billions but BB still does her own shopping. For office supplies.

Do you suppose that lipstick is Maybelline?

7. I've know some rich folks
Who are the cheapest SOBs you'ld ever want to meet. The worst one's are greedy and cheap. All they care about is enriching themselves and then they have no clue what the heck to do with it all. Babs is probably the queen of them all.

10. I once had a account at a bank I worked at
who was on the board of directors and one of the major stock holders of a very large drugstore chain whose name you would recognize with no problem. Every now and then he would take me for lunch as a thank you for any special attention I gave his account. A nice gesture for sure, if he only could have left it at that.

One day after taking me to lunch he handed me a box with half filled perfume bottles, some very expensive like Channel. He told me they were the counter samplers, but they used to throw them out after they had been opened for awhile, but he sniffed the perfumes and thought they were perfectly all right and instead of throwing them away, he thought of me and that I would enjoy them.

Wow, being the ingrate that I was, I threw them in the garbage when I got back to my office.

11. she said on Larry King...
..that she is an excellent provider. She said she is not a good cook, but she is a wonderful provider.

By that I inferred that she fills out the order form for the cook to go shopping.

She also said that her grandchildren would call her the meanest woman alive. She said she's really mean to them -- the enforcer.

6. boorish is correct
When one is reared to believe the rules do not apply to them, their eating behavior would be part of same big picture as pinching women's butts. (iirc, busch is also guilty of this one)

BTW, when I opened this thread, I expected to see the story running the WP today about his candy and praying behaviors.

How much longer must this go on dear god?...now there's my Sunday morning prayer.

8. This part at least must be satirical.
"For good measure, aides are circling the "health stylist's" advice and leaving copies in places where W just might see it."

Expecting W to read, or even pretend to read, voluntarily is just too preposterous for words. I mean, really! This must be White House PR.
