Ari is lying on Letterman
Edited on Thu Jul-17-03 11:07 PM by FubarFly
Called the trucks facilities for biological evidence.

Says nigergate it's ridiculously overblown issue.

Says it's worth it anyway, cause Saddam was so bad.

Oh I hate that man. What a slime ball.

27. I was very surprised
by the volume and length of the applause.
I would hav expected New Yorkers and particularly Letterman fans to be more liberal.

I guess Iraq is not really defined by Liberalism or Conservatism, but rather by thinkers vs zombies.

5. Dave let him off the hook
when he asked if it was realistic that the CIA was responsible for the content of Bush's speech. Ari gave his canned, "The truth of the matter ___________ blah blah blah" speech. Dave didn't believe it, but didn't challenge him. Let' see what happens after the commercial.

9. Letterman's doing a better job than CNN
Lettermen isn't grilling Ari but he asked tougher questions than some of the media idiots.

Ari is an idiot, and yes Gore did win Florida a-hole.

13. One more time:
Let's give Saddam a chem and bio program. Fine. Where is the eminent threat!! What the chimpsters don't get is Congress voted for war based on an eminent threat of the mushroom cloud. Tim R. said this am. that 180 congressmen would not have voted if not for the nuclear threat. The inspectors were there, they were doing their jobs the weapons had been uncovered in the 90's. It did not have to be war and it especially did not have to be a war without an exit plan. I am getting angry!

26. tourists
they're not nyc residents. they're all out of towners who've had their tickets for ages and planned vacations around them. I don't think David knows a lot about these issues. He could have said any number of things but he didn't. It looked like he thought he was asking tough questions about the SOTU address but he didn't really know enough to dig. Ari looked good. He basically said, let me break it down for the peeps and then proceeded to dole out the bull. Dave was in over his head on this one. Not that he should be expected to bring fleisher to his knees but he basically threw softball after softball.

29. They freeped this too, didn't they?
Thanks for that explanation, it all makes sense, the minute he was booked they sent word out and had a pre-fab audience at the drop of a hat. Just like the three books by conservative authors on the NYT bestseller lists are the same three that have the little (+) by them meaning there were bulk buyings. The repukes ought to change their party name to "The Masters of Manufactured Consent". They are getting so good at this game it is absolutely eerie.

Let's remember that the audience booed last night on Conan O'Brien when he announced that Limbaugh would be on ESPN. (A small ray of hope.)

25. I guess I expected about what I got...
What I hoped for was something like:

Fleisher: We know Saddam Hussein had chemical and biological weapons. (he actually did say something to that affect)

Letterman: "Yea, but wasn't that in the 1980s?" or "Uh, then where are they?"

Unfortunately, he just let Fleisher's assertion go unchallenged.

31. WORD
just telliing the wife, if dave had the spine, he'd ask heidi fleisher about the weapons ray-gun sold sadamn that the dems that make such an overblown issue about the false statments that shrub made were so happy to live with. whew! any-who, the man was full of it, and i bet his mother is ashamed.
but, after hearing leno utter the truth about the US selling chems to iraq with bill maher last night, i got to hopeing dave would try to trump him, but he's not the dave he used to be. and i'm NOT saying leno is better because he blows with the wind, but dammit, it would've been nice to see. and a great b-day present for his mom.

When asked about his opinion of Helen Thomas Ari said that she was an ultra liberal who believed that Gore won Florida and then right afterwards said she reminded him of his mother.
