What If Every Democrat Brought One Unlikely Voter To The Polls?
Wondering what the math is on this.

What if every Democrat made a pledge to bring ONE person with them who otherwise would not likely have voted to the polls?

What kind of padding would this give us? I know this kind of drive has happened before. But if we make it a mantra and make sure that we can get people committed to such a thing as a 'movement' I think it could really help.

One main reason is that the Reichpublicans are not good at activism. They pretty much have their hard-core crowd that votes Pug down the line. I would say, in reality the mushy-middle really leans towards the left. Which means, if we can just hold our ground and then buffer it with a massive vote augmentation campaign we could secure a win in 2004.

Am I pipe dreaming?

1. The more people that vote, the better for us
I've always beleived that. Unless you are obscenely wealthy, have a very narrow view of Christianity or a conservative view of Israel's security needs, we're it, baby.

2. This is the simple truth.....
Take a new buddy to the polls......double the base and gaina new friend while we all take back America.

3. A Washington Post story
from many moons ago detailed a study on this subject. In several heavily tilted rep districts, voters found 2 people who were unlikely to vote and convinced them to register and go to the polls. They also begged those people to do the same. On election day, they called their friends to remind them of their promise. In the end, the dem candidates handily beat the rep. According to the article, this method of campaigning has proven more successful than any other method including expensive ads.

Someone posted the article several years ago at TT, and I no longer have it. I do remember that it was in the WP. When you think about taking a few buddies, it's perfectly logical.

4. exactly!
Most of us shouldn't have to resort to picking somebody off the street - Just taking a fence-sitter or apathetic voter to the polls. I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of people who are actually REGISTERED and *still* do not vote.

7. Remember, vote multiple times
Just fill out some voter registration cards and vote absentee.

See, easy as that.
