Al Sharpton is such a treasure...

This guy is the modern day William Jennings Bryan. Ever the populist. He is such a positive force for the Democrats and laser beam accurate in hitting on the issues that matter.

For anyone watching the debates, its obvious how well received he has been after making one zinger after another. Such a great speaker and comes across as genuine, as anyone would, when talking to the people from the heart and standing up for what is right.

Too bad he has more baggage than the belly of a 747...

Yes, Sharpton has baggage -- but it's nothing compared to Bu$h and Mrs. Bu$h's outright criminality.

which is a pity, because he probably has 20 IQ points on most (tho' not all) of the other Democratic candidates.

And I bet he has 50-plus IQ points on Bu$h*. Who's the whitest, richest, and dimmest there is. But white and rich can get away with murder -- literally. No matter how dim they are.

In the meantime, Sharpton's doing a tremendous job rousing the Democratic base. And every time he speaks, he gives Bu$h and the Rethugs hell.

One can only hope some of the other Democratic candidates will watch & learn.

I agree with the posters above who have the sense to know Sharpton has less bagage than some. It is the fact that he is black and outspoken that really bothers people.
Every candidate up there has baggage. Bush has more than anyone, so why aren't you all ranting about that?

With Cameron's question about how you're asking more of the wealthy class, how about the middle class? Sharpton said it was an INSULT to ask them for more. And when he said the word "you" I got the feeling he was talking to FAUX.

I just got in from my weekend in DC, so I am not commenting on the debate. Mr. Sharpton is a treasure, but he is dead wrong saying that we must pull out immediately. What we must do is turn Iraq over to the UN or another internationally-recognized authority.

You forgot that Mark Green ran against Freddie & Al. Sharpton & Freddie kept their get out the vote machines closed for election day. They didn't just support Bloomberg, they gave him the election.

While we are at it, we should note that Sharpton has supported Pataki against McCall and Supported D'amato in his first bid for Senate.

Sharpton isn't a friend of the Democrats.

I grew up watching him....He is a clown with no agenda other than his own cult of personality. He's done some whacky things. He's played the race card more than once when he had no biz doing so. He wouldnt be where he is if Jesse hadn't faded from the scene.

Give him a big budget talk and entertainment show on HBO, like a Bill Maher deal. The guy's a brilliant entertainer, a master of repartee and he knows music. He'll still talk politics but to a much wider following.

Kucinich should be a Senator and an author. And he should continue to work on the board of the Parliamentarians for Global Action, where he can focus on building support and infrastructure for the International Criminal Court and on peace initiatives.

CMB is a diplomat. She needs to hire a good, straight arrow accountant to take meticulous care of her finances, and then ascend to a major diplomatic role. She's clear-headed, strong and has great people skills.

Made me laugh for a few minutes.

Even if his past is dodgy, I just love the guy for saying such funny and true comments like, "I'm the conservative here. I'm trying to conserve affirmative action, pro-choice rights, civil rights, etc." It's so true and funny, and spun in an eye-opening way.

If he could win it I would definitely be with him, but the reality is that he can't. I think he would be a good Pres. but since that isn't going to happen I think whoever does win the election should definitely consider him as a running mate.
