In three months he may stand at 38% for re-election.

For one thing, many believe the pablum that the corporate media and right-wing smear meisters spew on a daily basis. Also, stupid people, of which there are millions in this country, tend to admire other stupid people - people they can more readily understand and relate to. Intelligent people saying things that their limited and closed minds cannot comprehend are seen as elitists and arrogant. Who else could be more appealing to such people than a total dimwit like GWB? He speaks to them.
