"Patriot Rally" Pics......Hilarious

my favorite is the "al quada" dude and his shirt with "hollywood" and a circle and slash over it...i guess he doesn't like ahhhnold?

and the captions are equally funny...i haven't heard "commie" used as a derogatory slur so many times since 1985.

1. How about the "hate groups" one?
A picture of a terrorist using the american flag as a mask?

Maybe the guy holding that sign ain't no freeper.

4. looks as if they had a great turnout-not
The Wash Post said there were about 50 Freeps there - from those pics looks more like 30 at best. Maybe the Post reporter counted the people standing around gaping at them. Were they guarding the portapotties again this time?
I also think it is funny that there seemed to be more signs there than people to carry them. The dude with the slash hollywood t shirt was in several pictures carrying different signs. You really showed those commies this time freepers! Way to go!

5. ...
I dunno how I feel about people burning the flag at the protests. I guess it doesnt reflect all of them, but I think its a piss poor way to try and get your statement across. Makes you seem un-american and gives the right more fire to use against all of us. So Id ask people to refrain from doing that when protesting the president or the war. We can not afford to let anyone think we dont love this country and that our attentions are correcting the mistakes that have been made, not destroy the country. haha. Oh well! Glad to see they had MORE pictures of the anti-war people than they did of themselves! thats a laugh riot! How many people did they have attend their rally again? 20 people? lol! Musta been boring if one of their photographers decided to go take pictures of the opposing group!

16. As far as flag burning goes...
I agree that if there is any way to ensure that the vast majority of Americans will instanteously turn away from whatever you have to say, that is the way to do it!

Flag burning is stupid, IMHO, but I will not stop anyone from doing it, if thet feel the urge. As I posted below, the ones at the Freeper rally are lucky they didn't burn the flags those people were wearing!

8. Charming group
So the FReep dinner the night before took up, what, TWO WHOLE TABLES at the sports bar?

And what a fine looking group of young people in that second shot. Just think, that young lady probably got to spend the night with one of those hunks.

I notice that in the shots of the "rally" itself, they only show the speakers, and not the throngs of supporters (interesting that no one was crowding the stage... so well behaved!).

Other interesting details:

How hard did they have to search to find an African American man with the first name "Niger" to speak? Why is Bob Dornan looking at his watch while he's speaking? Is he waiting for the other SUV full of "warriors" to arrive?

And is it just me, or is there NO SUCH THING as a FReeper BABE? Protest crowd seemed to be chock-full of cuties (I know, I am SO superficial and adolescent....).

14. one has a hat with IRS and a circle with a slash over it.....so i guess
that means that he'd agree with the protesters who had signs denouncing the american government as being illegitimate?

or am i just making assumptions about others' ability to see through the logic of their statements.

12. I notice that the photography leaves a lot to be desired...
other than that, not much to see.

Funny how they didn't post so many of their 'Rally', perhaps it's because no one showed up.

One other thing, I'm not necessarily anti-obesity; but it seemed to me, that if they made such a stink about the burning of the flag, they should feel lucky that those who had a slightly higher fat content and WORE the flag, were't the victims of matches themselves. Fat burns quite hot. (In any case, except for a flag patch, I think that people who wear 'flag shirts' and such, should be arrested, or in the least, be given a copy of the 'proper way to display the flag').

They put the "ug" in "ugly"

Makes me think of that old phrase "beauty is only skin deep but ugly is to the bone"

These people's ugliness radiates outwards from their inner, rotten core.

28. it's called *sarcasm*
you see, sometimes you say something and don't mean for what you say to be taken literally.
for example. i lose $20. i say, "that's just great."
is it great that i lost $20? of course not.

so do i really think that the person who is deleting comments is a commie? no, of course not. do i think deleting comments is a commie technique? well, no.

but do i think that their ad hominem attacks on those who disagree with them as being "commies" is in direct contrast to their supposed love of freedom? shit yeah.

31. someone should tell 'em their mortgage deduction is, ohmigod, welfare!!!
Edited on Mon Oct-27-03 02:01 PM by The_Gopher

if we define "welfare" as a good or service provided by the government to assist citizens with housing/education/finances

and those school buses they send their kids to school on? welfare!

and the child tax credits they want? welfare!

and the low interest student loans they might have to take out? welfare!

great book called "the hidden welfare state." shows how tax credits to the middle and upper class far outweight the costs of what people usually consider welfare given to the poor.
