The Media is having a collective orgasm over Blair's address to Congress
How do we counter the fact that all these idiots in congress stood and cheered this Clown? The Media is crowing about it all over the place.
Do we really need Blair telling us what our "destiny" is? I have been watching c-span and I am ready to puke over all the people who are talking about what a great service Blair did for us. UGH!

Don't we have a lying scumbag of our own in bush?

1. If the bush doctrine prevails
our destiny will the same as that of all empires, the empire will crumble or be crushed. You would think that great britain would be aware of this.

4. Blair must be nostalgic for that "empire feeling"
and he's trying to channel empire vicariously through attaching himself to Herr Bush*.

2. It's Bizarro World
Heard the moron on NPR commenting after the speech that it was comparable to Churchill's address.

The somnambulent media is walking this country off a cliff.

8. Did Churchill also tell us what to think?
I can't imagine that people actually think this war could compare to the purpose of WW2. Horrible as that was, there was good reason to go and fight then. This Operation Iraqi Freedom (good grief, who names these wars?) was the worst fraud ever thrust upon us and 70 percent of the country thinks it was a good idea?

I am sorry to rant, but I am just sick over this today.

3. Blair may have been the "counter-attack"
that Drudge said Cheney was bragging about.

9. Amen!
However I am not sure praying will do it. I think God is scratching her head and wondering why we are not using the brain power we were given.

10. It will go away of its own accord
The comparison of Blair to Churchill must sting at the WH, where they've been trying to sucker the media into thinking its Bush who has inherited Sir Winston's aura.

12. Blair was brought in to put out some fires
the "handlers" assumed (correctly) that Blair would be a gifted enough speaker (and novelty) to distract the people from the important questions being raised. It only helped their cause that he did everything but wave the red, white and blue over his head as he spoke. Eloquent it was but nothing very useful was said.

Yep, the Bush admin. needed an ace and got it. He said all the right things knowing full well tht he had hitched his wagon to this stupid caravan of deception and he's got to play along with the bluff since it could mean his job.

13. Oddly enough
The British media is not all cheering. The anti-war side of the press does not approve, the Daily Express, right-wing and usually pro-Blair had a picture on the front of Blair in a straightjacket and the Daily Mail was accusing him of self-delusion and giving Blair a bit of a going over.

Plus the current missing mole is going to have an impact on the media, but I am not going to guess at what that will be as there is too little evidence to jump to conclusions on that one other than that it is suspicious circumstances.
