MS Gov. hopeful Barbour on racist grooup's website
www.cofcc.org

Here it is and the caption. He attended this group's barbecue where they raise money for all white private schools.

The election year Mississippi Black Hawk Barbecue and Political Rally held on July 19 drew dozens of political candidates and was attended by a crowd of over 500. The Black Hawk Barbecue is sponsored by the Council of Conservative Citizens to raise money for private academy school buses. (Pictured L-R: Chip Reynolds, State Senator Bucky Huggins, Ray Martin, GOP gubernatorial nominee Haley Barbour, John Thompson, and Black Hawk Rally emcee and C of CC Field Director Bill Lord.)

1. Thanks for keeping this in the news, BSG
I am disgusted at the apathy in my state about this. People should be furious, but no one really cares. I wonder Barbour's fraternizing with racists is acceptable now.

PS: check your link to the photo...it isn't coming up.

2. What's up with these academies?
Are they like private schools for parents to send their kids to schools if they don't want them going to school with black children? Do these schools allow black children?

3. Site's down, but let me guess...
this isn't a racist organization, but wants to bring back "traditional values."

Just don't ask what those values really are. You're head will explode.

The private schools aren't to get away from them nasty black kids, but to bring back traditional quality educational that the public schools are no longer capable of.

Traditional quality education includes creationism and lots of prayer. That they'll admit to.

(And there's no point in wasting money on a school library.)
