For locking out their union workers,
on Labor day no less.

I am not a union person so I don't really know.

But it seems like more businesses are doing it nowadays.

The PI article really doesn't explain that very well.
(But I linked to them 'cause they're the least whorish
of Seattle's mainstream papers.)

"...Nearly 200 dairy employees - including 77 in Issaquah - have been locked out of their jobs since Aug. 31, after rejecting a contract offer from WestFarm Foods. The union has since called for a consumer boycott of all Darigold products, which WestFarm Foods produces.

Workers from the company's Issaquah and Seattle plants, who are represented by Teamsters Local 66, turned down the contract offer with a 109-25 vote Aug. 31. Several hours later that same day, WestFarm Foods responded with a lockout and replacement workers..."

And, yeah you're right.
More business are doing it.
These are union busting times.
Companies have the power and damn well plan to keep it.
It's more important than ever to support, and ideally form, unions.
