How funny is Al Franken's new book?

My goodness I was laughing so hard last night reading that book. Instead of inventing positions for the right(much like Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity usually invent these make beleive positions the left supposedly holds) he uses their own words and shows how thoughtless they really are.

I lost it when he sarcastically called Harry Truman "A Liberal America Hater of the worst sort". He just adds these subtle references to positions held by the right and makes them look so pathetically stupid. I loved Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot, because of it's style of humor. I am very impressed with Lying Liars. He doesn't try to go out on any limbs like Michael Moore does. He doesn't try to get you to draw some conclusions by adding some questionable facts, he just embaresses people with their own words. AL Franken and the Daily Show are great for this.

This is Franken's best, IMO.

He disposes of the humor about halfway through and sets about to PISS YOU OFF. And it works.

Several spots had me laughing out loud. By the way, I saw/heard Michael Moore and Al Franken in the same week at the University of Minnesota. Franken's from the Twin Cities and he was here to speak for an author of a book of photos about Paul Wellstone.

Some great lines, but the second half was not as strong as the first. Checked out Michael Moore's new book at the bookstore yesterday, too - pretty thin for $25. C'mon guys, a little more effort, please. No criticisms of their positions here, just give me value, please.

flight attendants. I laughed so hard reading the Chicken Hawk chapter I thought that I would wet my pants. I laughed out loud several times which is what caught the interest of the flight crew. My sons college roomate read the book and it is currently making the rounds on the fourth floor. You really need to be well informed politically to appreciate the book and the sarcasm. I bought 10 copies for gifts.

This is one of the best written of the flock of "new left literature" that has come out lately. Funny at times - but he uses irony as a lethal weapon. Sure he makes you laugh - but usually it's more like the giddiness and delight you feel after crushing that angry Yellowjacket that's been buzzing you for the last hour.

Obviously, I highly recommend this book.
