1. Did the show originate in Japan?
I thought it did? Just a transplant--bizarre enough to be sure, but still.

Never seen it
But i enjoy "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge". I have no ill feelings towards asians but the qualities that make other cultures different from us can be found amusing. I love Monty Python doing imitations of "Americans", loud, boisterous, always right, hillarious. Should those old skits be avoided?

4. Or the Americans on Fawlty Towers?
Loud, demanding, curt.

5. You wanna talk about mindless mockery of Asians?
Watch (or rather don't watch) Most Extreme Elimination Challenge on TNN. It is a transplant from Japan, but they change the words of the announcers in the dubbing. Of course, now the comments from the "announcers" are the kind of crude bathroom humor that seems to be typical of that channel. Don't get me wrong, I like a good bathroom joke, but these are crap.

Oh right, Bonzai. Even if it wasn't a form of modern blackface, I would never watch it just because of the obnoxious pop ups promoting it on TVGuide.com.
