Sex at the al-Rashid Hotel

http://ww1.theherald.co.uk/news/3403.html

Informant warned of infiltration before hotel blast

US authorities failed to act on a warning from an Iraqi police informant in August that the staff of Baghdad's al-Rashid hotel had been infiltrated by Ba'ath party spies seeking targeting information on the governing coalition's top brass.

-snip-

The al-Rashid serves as offices and accommodation for senior coalition officials, military officers as well as local members of the Iraqi governing council.

-snip-

The letter names Muslel Muhammed Farhan al-Dilemi, 53, the manager of the al-Tamoor Trading Company, which provides staff and services to the hotel.
The informant alleges that al-Dilemi "placed" a number of people on the al-Rashid's catering staff, recruited "beautiful secretaries" and arranged sexual liaisons to give them access to high-ranking officials.

2. Ah ha! I knew it!
On an earlier thread about the hotel I questioned how the Iraqi resistance was getting its intelligence. Now my question has been answered.

Now, tell me this, how can a US General say that these are uncoordinated attacks carried out by amateurs when they are obviously using espionage techniques like the "honey trap" to gain valuable intelligence for the purposes of targetting?

It is clear that the resistance is both coordinated, and populated by professionals, and that the US is going to be extremely vulnerable to attacks becuase they can not prevent US-Iraqi interactions being used to gain intelligence.

3. a wk. or so ago I posted an article about 2 soldiers marrying Iraqis

in fact, two Iraqi doctors. And how their officers told them not to marry and now red tape is stopping the wives from leaving the country with the soldiers.

anywho, I wondered at the time how 2 soldiers could meet 2 doctors, and have a double wedding ceremony in all that chaos, in such a short time.

coincidence?

4. I have no trouble understanding the soldiers marriages...
These doctors were probably in hot zones with the soldiers helping injured iraqis or even possibly injured US soldiers. I wouldn't be surprised if that is how they met.

As for the "honeypot" spies, that seems like such a hackneyed tactic that any amatuer Get Smart viewer would see through. Although I read tales that Mossad still uses their female agents to great effect the world over...
