Electoral Tyrannicide
Edited on Fri Jul-18-03 03:51 PM by BurtWorm
The Bushists are tyrants and they must go.

Democrats must be united behind a leader who will bring about electoral tyrannicide in November 2004. I sincerely hope that momentum is building in our party--even among the "leaders" of our party--to take a strong, firm stand to end this tyranny, which has resulted in sapping the strength of the commonwealth, entangling the nation in an impossible foreign intrigue that is killing our men and women in uniform and creating havoc for the Iraqi people, and endangering the security of the whole world so that a few Crassuses can fill their already full pockets at everybody else's expense.

For those who don't know who Crassus was, think James Mason in Spartacus: he was one of the three legs of the First Triumvirate, though he held no political office, a wealthy patron of the mischief-makers who killed the Roman democratic republic and replaced it with an autocratic empire.

Is it an exaggeration to compare our current crisis with the one that Roman Republicans faced 2,000 years ago? I'm afraid of the consequences if too many think so and are wrong.

...privatization: Seems he owned his own personal fire department, and he and the slaves would go to the burning house, and as it burned, Crassus would attempt to buy it. As the building burned more and more, Crassus would offer less and less money. As soon as the owner relented to sell to Crassus, the slaves would put out the fire, as per
Kentucky Educational Television's Latin Distance Learning site.

3. He also hired thugs to start riots, I've heard
Then he would gather support by promising to stop the beatings. Sounds like the Republicans doesn't it?

2. Sic Semper Tyranus
"This always to tyrants" - What Brutas allegedly said when he stabbed Ceasar.
Also State Motto of Virginia, and what Booth said when he shot Lincoln.
