3. I was one but bailed
He's trying to be Howard Dean. I thought Kerry was serious about fighting terrorism but he apparantly thinks that the only view now is the Dean view. Lieberman is now the only sane candidate and I don't even like him that much. I guess I'm waiting for Joe Biden but that ain't gonna happen. I can't believe that I'm seeing this party wander off in a direction that National Security isn't an issue.

5. Kerry wrote a book about terrorism in 1997
why in the world would he need to change his views towards ANYONE else's?

He has Hart, Beers, Perry and now Wilson on his foreign policy team. You can't find TWO people in politics who know more about the inner dealings of terrorism than Hart and Kerry.

6. He souldn't change but he has
I agree. Why change views because it's a tough primary sell? I think that the strategests are running him now much like they did to Gore. Dean isn't right but he's genuine. I'm disappointed that Kerry can't be also.

8. Change what views?
That you don't lie to the country and the world when you're trying to fight a war on terrorism? Seems like a consistent Kerry stance to me.

9. He hasn't changed at all.
Read the recent NYTimes piece where they take on the "waffling" meme and come to the conclusion that Kerry has remained consistent. But, people are taking his nuanced remarks and twisting them for their own political purposes. Nothing new.

11. Why do you think Dean won't fight terrorism?
Dean actually has some very good ideas for National Defense, and it will be a lot better than what Bush is doing. Bush is off creating more terrorists. Dean wants to do more to protect our borders and ports from terrorists and illegal items slipping through. He also wants to actually get our local agencies working better with the state and federal agencies to keep our country safe. Dean is no pushover mamby-pamby. He won't go around bombing everything muslim, but likewise, he won't take any nonsense. Dean is a very, very intelligent man who is great at finding solutions to really big problems in places you'd not expect the solutions to be found. Dean cares a great deal about what goes on when he's in charge. You should visit his website and read his issues page. I live in Vermont, and I'll tell you straight up, that Dean will NOT be weak on terrorism. He won't be weak on anything. He's tough as nails while still keeping the best interest of the people he leads as the top priority.

12. Doing better than Bush is not enough...
... when it comes to fighting terrorism or leading the nation's armed forces as Commander-in-Chief.

As you know, Karaoke, talk is cheap. Which brings us back to Dean — talk, talk, talk.

If Dean really was tough as nails, he'd have volunteered for military service when called instead of showing up with a doctor's note and an X-ray.

Here's a Democrat who had a bad back and was turned down by the US Army. What did John F. Kennedy do? He joined the US Navy.

4. Count me in Kerry's corner.
From the time he came back from Vietnam, John Kerry has fought the BFEE. If he's elected, he'll kick the unelected fraud clear back to Crawford. Then, Kerry will make the best President this country has seen in a looooong time.

10. I'd be there, but
Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 10:55 PM by sleipnir
first he has to apologize for his vote on IWR and his kowtowing to Bush and the Pugs. I'm not bashing, I like Kerry's policies and thoughts, I just can't stand parts of his past congressional record and from statements I've read, it seems like he's ashamed of it, to some degree. Why he doesn't apologize or admit he was very wrong? He'd get a lot more support from our so called "anti-war" faction. Really, I'd love to be in his corner, but damn it, he's got to win me over by convincing me he won't go back to bending over to the Pugs.
