Anybody see the Kelly hearing on C-SPan?

A Parliamentary committee was interviewing Kelly on his contacts with the British media...carried live on C-Span.

From what I can tell this guy really wasn't a big source...maybe more of a "technical" source. He was pretty nervous, though.

You're going to have to clarify what you mean. If you're asking whether he was a big source to Andrew Gilligan, then I would have to say no. Kelly certainly didn't think he was and neither did the Parliamentary committee. Was he however, a big source with regards to WMD, then I would have to respond with a resounding yes.

There was literally nothing this guy didn't know about Iraqi weapons programmes in the 90s (in fact, he carried the unfortunate distinction of being personally hated by Saddam Hussein). Quite simply, Dr Kelly is of supreme importance. Whether he will prove to be more significant with regards to the Anthrax episode however, remains to be seen.

I dont think, based on this hearing, that he was a major source for Gilligan.

From just this hearing he seemed like more of a "backrounder" source on the WMD program and bio WMDs in general....more for technical backround.

This hearing was called specifically to establish whether Dr. Kelly was the Deep Throat character to Gilligan. It was not a technical role he was playing here, but a (unwilling) political one.
