Michael Savage tells his side of the story...
I decided to see if he had some sort of continuing rant on his personal website and I was NOT disappointed.

What happened on the air is much different than what is being reported. It was in the middle of an airline horror story segment with a great set (see photos above). Out of nowhere a crank caller from a competitive talk show went from describing his airline horror story to making vicious personal attacks against me. I signaled and thought that this crank caller was cut from the air. His insults continued in my ear piece and I reacted to him personally as an individual who was attacking me to defend myself.

Unfortunately, my personal comments to this crank caller were broadcast. In no way did my comments reflect my views of disease and suffering in any way. I have spent my entire life in the field of alternative medicine trying to heal the world and bring comfort to the sick. If my comments brought pain to anyone I certainly did not intend for this to happen and apologize for any such reaction.

More here http://www.homestead.com/prosites-prs/SavageTVShow.html

Talk about completely unable to grasp the gravity of his error. It's shocking to me that anyone would think these kinds of comments are what one would use to defend themselves. After he labels callers "all sausages", he says this is no reflection of his views?!!! Choke on a sausage? Come On!!!

He doesn't even apologize for his actions or show any remorse whatsoever. It reads as though the listener is at fault for not realizing he was only standing up for his honor. Personal Responsibility at its finest.

1. check
just check the video of the incident. He says AFTER he was supposed to have cut to commercial or whatever that he wants to go "onto the next scene here on the Savag Nation." Definitely not the talk of someone who just cut to a commercial. What a damned crybaby.

Join Charles Coughlin in the fires of hate radio hell, Savage.

Wow. Reminds me of Morton Downy Jr's meltdown.

But it must have been someone else...anyone else's fault...You notice how the complete GOP party can't take on any responsiblity or accountability? They must have someone else to fault. Intellectually, the GOP are little children.

25. That's what they mean when they claim Democrats don't take responsilbility
It means that the Democrats aren't willing to accept that no Republican could ever do anything wrong, and therefore it is always the Democrats' fault, and the blasted Democrats won't just admit that.

31. personal responsibility
You must realise that 'personal responsibility' means you, not them. It always has. Replublicans have done this since at least the 80's.

Their trick is this:
First, they make you think there are billions of freeloaders in our society

Second, they make you believe there's no reason for 'handouts', we can all do everything ourselves.

Third, when circumstances way out of our control come into being and leave our asses out on the street with nothing, its our fault.

His many listeners in the gay community?

I guess I shouldn't confuse "listeners" with "fans." OK he hedged that one enough for it to pass I guess.

11. Look, let's get one thing out in the open:
He said it. This incident, alomg with all the other things he has said make him one VERY sick individual. Is it a sociopathy? Dissasociative Personality Disorder? Rapid-cycling Schizo-Affective Disorder? BiPolar 1, untreated? Demonic possession? Intestinal impaction?

I don't know. I don't particularly give a rat's ass, either. All I know is that he is now well on his way to the dim and dusty recesses of radio history, and that is A Very Good Thing.

Now, for a capper, it would be good if MSRNC would make so bold as to can the ass of the person or persons that hired that train wreck of an excuse for a human being. They have been his enablers, and deserve to face some of the music as well.

"I hope you die of AIDS!".../me smacks forehead

What a putz.

18. A news consultant's worst nightmare
"Could you possibly talk to Ann about her wearing the crack-whore tops, and do something with the hair, so she does not look like a Satanic stoned cheerleader?"

"Savage may be more of a problem, as he will not allow anyone to measure his inseam, so maybe a colorfull kaftan or designer bed sheet may give him a more approachable look."

19. No surprise here
Republicans talk a good game about integrity and personal responsibility but when it comes time for them to own up for their mistakes it is always someone else's fault. Is it really that difficult to admit when you are wrong?

I suppose when you have fans who shower you with adoration and tell you that you are God's gift to politics you start to believe in your own infalibility. Sickening it is.

23. For god's sakes!
Don't you understand? He's a HEALER!

He was HEALING that caller by telling him to go choke on a sausage (evidently soon after that he rushed to the callers home to deliver the Heimlich manuever and save the poor "cocksucker" - Savage's pet name for the caller)..

not to mention you could hear the concern in his voice as he warned the caller against tricinosis, a terrible disease caused when the fluke spore from one of Savage's rants enters the intestinal system and can only be killed with a yummy coffee enema - MILLSTONE being the coffee of choice..

you're just not catching the signals, just like when he signalled the film crew when that mean caller got on the phone.. he folded his arms and kept them that way the whole time.. a definite sign that he wanted to go to the next caller..

wake up and smell the coffee emanating from his ass.. remember, he took the Hypocritic Oath as a doctor of love :)

26. Has anyone heard of the Don and Mike Show?
That is the competing show Weiner is talking about. They have a sophomoric radio talk show that has a rabid following. Some of their listeners try to get on other shows, whether it be radio or TV, (see Larry King) or even live stand-up comedy, like Jerry Seinfeld, and they yell Don and Mike's name. Just to see if they can get over on the person or get on the air.

It is really dumb for the most part and Don and Mike do not promote the idea, but will play a tape of it if one exists. They were talking about it on their show today and busting Weiners balls saying they do not even know who the fuck he is.

Weiner just lost his shit I think. I'm glad they dumped his racist, homophobic ass. One down, many to go.

27. This moment in media is the equivalent of the brilliant climax in Elia
Kazan's masterpiece A Face in the Crowd. In the movie, Andy Griffin thinks the sound is off while the closing credits roll on his TV show. He's smilin' and wavin' at the audience. And he's also saying, "Good night you idiots. You'd eat dog food if I told you too." And so on. But Patricia Neal has decided to reveal him to the world and those words go out over the air and the demagogue's legions of fans turn on him in a second.

So, in the tradition of great art and life imitating art, way to go Mike Weiner!!

28. "I have spent my entire life...trying to heal the world"
Oh, I see. Didn't realize we were dealing with the Albert Schweitzer of Alternative Medicine. What a Great Humanitarian he truly is, and all he did was flip off some worthless queer </sarcasm>

Here's my theory:
These guys think they ARE compassionate human beings, even when recommending that gay people be put in concentration camps or whatever. When Rummy thinks, "Get them Iraqis some food so they'll shut up," he gets a warm glow at the thought of his own saintly benevolence. Well, what he experiences as a warm glow--to you or me it would register as about 32.5° F. What's more, this is how they think everyone else thinks, too. So when people don't credit them with being the Great Humanitarians that they know they are inside, they get hurt and resentful and think the world is unfair and go in a corner and pout.

And then, when taken by the ear and forced to sit down and write an apology letter, they ALWAYS write one that contains some version of this line, as the Savage Whiner does here: "If my comments brought pain to anyone I certainly did not intend for this to happen and apologize for any such reaction. " Right. I'm sorry you took umbrage at my words. I.e., it's your fault asshole. I just said what any Compassionate Benefactor of Mankind would say and YOU chose to get all huffy about it. There. I wrote your stoopid letter. Now can I get my gun and go play?

Quintessential Repuke/ReichWing stuff, this.
