Cheney visit nets record
Another Invisible Dick sighting....

OMAHA (AP) - Despite the state GOP raising a record $400,000 Monday at a fund-raiser featuring Vice
President Dick Cheney, Nebraska's leading Republican said the party cannot assume success at the polls.

"No party is ever untouchable," said U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel.

Cheney, who is raising cash for the 2004 presidential election, spoke to a crowd of about 200 people for 15
minutes at a $1,000 per-person event at Durham Western Heritage Museum near downtown Omaha.

"It's a great turnout for the number-two man on the ticket. I've always said nothing draws a crowd like raw
charisma," Cheney joked, eliciting laughter from the crowd.

He thanked the crowd for contributing the money, a record for a Nebraska political fund-raiser.

1. All over the news last night.
Sickening stuff. Omaha is his kind of town, though--chock full o' Freepers.
