Mississippi voter intimidation - Talking Points Memo has official letters.
Talking Points Memo

The Letters - PDF

The pdf is a graphics thingy I can't cut and paste, but its about intimidation by video cameras, and poll watchers attempting to enter the polling booth, uninvited by the voter.

Guess they better send the federal registrars and marshalls back.

Damn Haley Barbour and his goons!

1. Voter "Monitors"
Heaven help the GOP poll Goon who gets in my way and stops me from voting on election day. He'd be watching election night returns from a hospital ward.

4. perfectly legal practice however..
they can't do anything but observe and make sure everyone shows proper ID before being given a ballot...nothing wrong with that...I hope we do the same thing to them.

5. yeah
it's legal, but it also seems to be back firing for the republicans there. the democrats didn't do anything like that, but then again, the republicans were the only ones in this election that were using dirty tactics

6. Mississippi doesn't require Voter ID at the polls...
I voted in Canton (one of the towns mentioned in one letter as having voter intimidation. I vote at a church and asked the black poll worker if they had had any problems with that sort of thing at our precinct and she said no.

I wore my favorite Donkey/Democrat tie!

7. But not legal at all if they try to enter the booth uninvited.
And according to the SOS, the videotaping is "a direct violation of law".
