A thought provoking commentary on Dean - Clark ticket
http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=17101

<snip>
A Dean/Clark ticket unites the two most prominent critics of the Iraq war, and gives countless millions who have vowed to vote for "anybody but Bush" a reason to believe he can be beaten. Watching the Democrats attack each other and waste their money through the primaries and all the way to the convention is a turn-off to the voting public, a powerful advantage to Bush and his $200 + million dollar war chest, and a sure strategy for a Democratic defeat in November. Every day that Lieberman, Brown, Edwards, Kerry, Sharpton, and the others remain in the race, the Bush regime benefits, as the money and energy bankrolling these pipedream campaigns is not being spent against Bush.

The Dean/Clark candidacy is a bold and surprising strategy that will generate a huge wave of publicity, and elevate Dean from "front-runner-with-major-caveats" to "it's his to lose" status. Adding Clark to the ticket also gives the Dean campaign at least a hint of a Southern strategy, as well as comfort to those who might fear that Dean is too soft on defense. Clark's "New American Patriotism" emphasizing compassion and service over anger and bombast adds appeal to those put off by Dean's sharper attacks. Clark also brings considerable foreign policy experience to the table.

1. Don't you mean a Clark/Dean ticket?
(For your future reference- the Presidential candidate is listed first, Vice-President second)

2. Clark/Dean or Dean/Clark
Seems like right now they would make a great team. Overall I think it was the best debate so far and Anderson Cooper was the most respectful to the candidates.

3. Agree 100%
They would make an exceptional team and Anderson Cooper should moderate all the future debates.

4. Hell yes
Dean is my favorite candidate but I have to say Clark really impressed me tonight. SOMETHING changed in his campaign strategy, and it showed. Very good job on his part.

5. Mark My Words: If Dean wins and Clark is VP, Dean will be assasinated
Just my real opinion.

Clark is the BFEE corporate product.

Just like LBJ was Halliburton's boy in 1963.

So the Corporate/Fascist Culture will Neutralize (with Extreme Prejudice) Dean

Edwards is the ticket to go with Dean. HE is NOT the CORPORATE warwhore. Kerry and Clark ARE corporate/fascist warwhores.

That is the way I see it.

10. What seventhson meant to say...
"No matter what, I will always try to find a
way to plant fear and doubt about Clark. It is
my personal mission."

12. Oh gees, isn't that a little bit over the top?
I just don't understand people who predict death. And equate a supposed wish for that death with specific candidates. Are you listening to yourself? YOU NEED HELP.

9. I believe Dean is too smart
to put DLC a war criminal (in many minds) on the ticket w/him.

I know in my neck of the woods, Dean would lose many supporters if he did.

...I think Dean/Clark is the way to go. Edwards can go to Hell with his trashy low-class attack on Dean tonight. YOU just lost yourself a VP nomination (should Dean win the presidential nomination), buddy.

14. I prefer Clark/Dean...
Dean isn't my first choice, not for any reason of substance, but because I worry that a Yankee with a wife who won't campaign is unelectable in certain areas. Certainly he has good things to say and I certainly wouldn't object to seeing him as VP.

It'll never happen but I'd love a Clark/Sharpton ticket, c'mon, a debate of Sharpton versus Cheney, it would be better than Smackdown. The right tries to pretend that Sharpton is not that sharp, but once you've seen him in action, he blows 'em away. (Yes, I'm aware he has an ego, but I'm guessing that anyone with the gonads to run for the presidency has an ego?)

I don't agree that Kerry, Sharpton, etc. should hurry up and drop out. Their money is not being wasted. It is getting a message out and creating excitement that there are alternatives to the B.F.E.E.
