6. Voters give Peterson a second term
Voters give Peterson a second term

Democrat scores upset in Lawrence mayor's race; Mayor Reddick concedes to independent candidate in Noblesville.

Mayor Bart Peterson cruised to a second term tonight, winning the opportunity to lead the nation's 12th-largest city for four more years.

In addition, Democrats took the mayor's office in Lawrence, long a Republican stronghold.

Political newcomer Deborah Cantwell deposed Tom Schneider, the Republican who has led the Northeastside city for 16 years. Cantwell, a retired firefighter, will become the first Democratic mayor in the city of 42,000 in its 46-year history.

Noblesville Republican mayor Dennis R. Redick conceded to independent John Ditslear. Reddick's image was damaged last summer when he was arrested for domestic abuse at a Jimmy Buffet concert.

8. Yay!
I couldn't stand Greg Jordan...something about him made me very leary of him. Perhaps it was the (R) beside his name. :)
