4. This goes against all the odds
This will be the first time in about 40 years that the governor's party picked up seats in a midterm. At the same time the govenor is one of the most unpopular ones in the country. The republicans really had an oppurtunity but all they did was bash McGreevey and in the end it backfired. Along with Bennett's (the only incumbent to lose so far) ethical issues, the democrats were able to win.

9. Congratulations New Jerseyites!!
It has been a great day for Dems in NJ and Pennsylvania--two critical states going into 2004--will the pundits pay any attention or will they just concentrate on Dem losses in the south?

The assembly in NJ was 41-38 Dems. Now it's 45-34 with one too close to call. Big win.

14. JERSEY DEMS RULE!
We have the REIGNING STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, THE NEW JERSEY DEVILS, the Nets who ONE YEAR will eke out four wins in the NBA Finals (fingers crossed, lol), and the state's solidly Democrat. I love my home state!

(Louisiana is only where I go to college, I'm a Jersey registered voter. :) )

Later.

19. It's regional
In PA, NJ, and NY, we are doing great. In the South, we aren't. Haven't heard from the West yet.

Overall we lost in Mississippi and Kentucky, but when you think about the states we need in 2004 that is less relevant.

22. The GOP is dead in Jersey
No dynamic is pushing Jersey towards the GOP. The GOP percentage is ever declining--they're done in the State.

They had a glimmer of hope with the Torch Toricelli, but with Lautenberg in, they're done.

24. Will there be a recount in NJ-4 (Senate seat)
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 11:21 PM by mndemocrat_29
Otherwise, with all precincts reporting Madden (D) beats Geist (R) by 80 votes (nj.com hasn't called this race yet).

Also, does anyone know which Assembly seat is too close to call?
