1. How can we read this and not cry for Evan
and all the lives lost to insanity of the Iraqi Invasion?

2. Pretty soon...
I'm gonna lose count of the number of times your posts have made me cry. Thank you for sharing this mother's story with us and reminding us why we have to keep fighting this war.

Will, what you do is important. Thank you for doing it.

4. Will, are you in touch with her still?
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 11:16 PM by LiberalTexan
Will you pass on the message that I posted on your other thread? It would mean a lot. I didn't know if you were still in contact with her or if it was a one time correspondence.

On edit: Please tell her that now I know her name and her son's name and soon so will everyone that I know.

At one of our local festivals here in North Texas, we got together and wrote out yellow ribbons with the names of the fallen. Each yellow ribbon went on a small US flag and we made a huge display of the whole thing. It was amazing how many people stopped and read the names. Relatives of soldiers, those who were just plain struck at the names-- they actually had meaning. They were real people. We need to know more about the real people and their stories.

God bless this woman for sharing her son's story with us.

6. I read it earlier, a tragic story...
Excellent job, Will. This is the part of the war the Repigs don't want to talk about. I'm glad that some of the families are willing to speak of what must be so unspeakble for them...

13. broken heart...
I have a son. I worry for him every day. He is only two. If the Bushites aren't stopped, this letter could be from me in 22 years. If things continue the way they are going, mothers will have to worry for their daughters as well. I will not let my son be fodder for rich men's cannons.

15. Sad, angry and confused....
Please pass along a very sincere "I'm so sorry" to this mother and family and friends. A very young widow is grieving.

It's been a year or two since I was in my early 20's and when I read through the lists of killed it makes me sick....people dying before their lives are truly beginning. The wounded whose lives are altered...just makes me sad and angry.

How in the hell the people who hawked this up and continue to support this misadministration can live with themselves just confuses the hell out of me.
