In the 8 o'clock hour tomorrow, Joy Cardin will be discussing voting machines. The guest is with an organization called electionline.org. A quick look at this site shows that it lists daily election reform stories organized by state, which could be a handy reference for activists.
BBV got a good hour tonight on The Point. David Dill explained the problem very nicely, and the graduate student from MIT was also effective. The attorney from the punch card voting challenge in California was only partly supportive, but did say that what Diebold is doing to those like the grad student who put the files on the Web is "despicable." Diebold was invited but declined to send anyone. And the host mananged to use the phrase black box voting at least once. Also, there was a member of the new federal Election Assistance Commission, which is now being confirmed. Does anyone know about this?
Last but not least, someone named Gene called in yesterday to a program about something else and made a great statement about BBV. If Gene is on DU, thanks!
