Terry McAuliffe must go.
Sorry folks, but I am getting really tired of getting my hopes up every election day only to have the Republicans tap me on the shoulder the day after and say "Oh, by the way, here's your ass!".

Terry calls his plan for re-energizing the party Project 5104 which strikes me as the year he expects the plan to start paying off.

It's time heads started to roll over these abyssmal results.

1. Completely agree.
Terry McAuliffe has got to go. Enough is enough. He's a nice man, but we've had 3 election cycles with him as DNC chairman and we've lost every single time.

To replace him: it's strictly fantasy, but I'd seriously wonder if Bill Clinton could be DNC chair. Ok, I know it's completely far fetched. But, who else in the DNC is more attuned to electoral politics and is politically shrewd than Clinton?

6. Yes he has to go.
We need someone with new ideas that is willing to fight hard and aggressively. I am frankly tired of playing nice. It's time to take the gloves off.

17. Yes, but when we DO get someone who fights barenuckled...
He's incessantly harangued for trying to woo southern white working class voters.

Go figure. Go Dean.

18. Terry
is Clintons main man and his personal choice for DNC chair. Why would replacing McCauliffe with Clinton produce any better results. Clinton is better utilized in other aspects of party organization and efforts.

2. And Donna Brazile, too...
She admits that she's a "friend" of Evil Karl, and chatted almost daily with him during the '00 campaign, and they haven't fired her?

Mary and James is about all the "sleeping with the enemy" I think we need in this party, thankee very much...

5. I agree, but it won't happen...
Bill and Hillary want him in there and he's not going anywhere until they decide otherwise.

7. Bill and Hill want WHO in there?
If you are referring to McCauliffe, I got the impression from a campaign mangager Bill never wanted him as DNC chair. Great at fundraising, terrible at managing the organization.

Later,
JM

8. It doesn't matter if Bill and Hillary want him there anyway....
It's OUR party, of which Bill and Hillary are members. Certainly their voice carries some weight, but our voice is legion and the DNC is not the private campaign headquarters of the Clintons.

10. This is not Bill and Hillary's Party .
I have not been very fond of Hillary's actions as a Senator lately . Since when does the leader of the party have to have their acceptance ?

19. Where are you getting this info?
If you are referring to McCauliffe, I got the impression from a campaign mangager Bill never wanted him as DNC chair.

Terry was Clinton's personally picked person to lead the DNC.

23. Carville and Begala were selected by the same person
that chose McAuliffe. Both Carville and Begala agree with and support Begala. Your desire for a Carville/Begala is like hoping that Tom DeLay will replace Denny Hastert

12. When the worst president in living memory can secure a victory for...
...republican candidates, and we have been treading water through three election cycles, you god damned right I am going to start looking at what the fuck our leadership is doing to reverse this trend.

13. One thing you said really pissed me off...
it was "Sorry". WTF is that! McAuliffe fucking sucks at his job, is tearing down the party, and was only put there because Clinton wanted him there (I guess he is good at getting the money).

He is a pathetic asshole who has done nothing but bring loses to the Dem party. Then he tries to make it sound as if we won in 2k2 when he said they raised more money then ever for the Dem Party, and that now, if you were to add up the electoral votes of the states with Dem Govs, the majority of the US would and EV votes would be under Dem Gov rule...Well great! I guess we won that election than asshole.

Don't be sorry for wanting this plague to leave our party, and Donna Brazil should probably get the boot too.

14. No argument here. The Party needs leadership.
That's one problem with non-general election years when you're out of the presidency, there's no party figurehead to rally around.

15. Please get rid of him!
I heard from very reliable sources that from the outset of the recall in California he was saying that the Dems were in big trouble and Arnold was going to win. We don't need leadership that goes around with words of defeat before the battle is over. Talking about giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

22. no argument here
He should have taken his sorry ass N2 the shadows after '00. He should have resigned after '02. He should have apologized 2 CA dems on Oct. 8 - it was his 'brilliant' strategy that no democrat B on the ticket but Davis - (it was Cruz' people that got him 2 step forward) Now I understand, from reading around this board, democrats in other states have taken the hit. The Democratic Losers Council has adopted the st ronnie BS of running the country like a corportion. Well, Terry, if you're the CEO of the Democratic Corp. then the Board of Directors has just asked 4 your resignation. We cannot afford your guidance in '04!
