Inside the numbers of the Philadelphia Mayor's Race
I am curious about something--how did Street fare in NE Phila? What was the regional breakdown there?

He seemed very happy on CNN right now.

1. By the way, j., I knew Street was going to win in a blow out when you
kept posting that he had serious ethics problems and he probably wouldn't win.

I wonder if you could help me with Sunday's football games?

2. That was before the bug broke out
Then I changed course. Back then Katz had a lead and he was in trouble. After the bug he took control of the race.

3. After the bug, I think you were still saying it was going to be tight.
It was a blow out.

I like it when you don't have confidence in Dems. It gives me confidence. You're my DU George Stephanopolus.

4. Well
Philadelphia's races do swing on race. I don't understand the point of your snide posts.

8. I'm trying to be funny.
I've simpley noticed that the more optimistic you are about the Democrat's chances, the tighter the race is for Dems. The more pessimistic you are, the better the Dem does.

I want you to help me gamble on sports.

5. I believe you were also confident Jindahl would lose.
But I'm not entirely certain.

6. I still think he will lose
Democrats got more than 50% in the primary balloting. Then again he could win as it is neck and neck.

11. Now, how am I going to bet on this one if you're taking both sides.
I'll go with you thinking he'll lose, and I'll put my money on him winning.

Carlos, I'm just trying to be funny. Who knows what could happen. You never know. But I do think Jindahl is arcing towards a victory and that the dems need to do something clever down there to win.

12. Yeah
But Landrieu won last year under these same circumstances. The endorsement of the NO mayor toward Jindal might swing it.

However, given what happened in MS and in KY, I don't the Democrats will let this one slip away.

I think Blanco will pull it off as she doesn't have any "black" problems the way Landrieu did.

15. Well
Unless Cleo Fields hates Blanco she should be okay.

I am praying to God that she wins.

14. there is a fundamental difference between '02 and '03
in Louisiana. Terrell was a terrible candidate, but Jindl is getting good reviews. Also, Mary L. was able to really motivate pro-choice women to get out and vote for her. Blanco is anti-choice and I'm not sure she will do as well with women as Mary L. did.

16. Good point
But Blanco, conversely, doesn't have the same "black" problems that Landrieu has every six years due to the fact that Cleo Fields hates her.

10. Thanks
I apprecate it.

It looks like a polarized city. The NE still backed Katz but by not the margins of 1999.

I wonder what the red/blue map from 1999 looks like.

9. From what heard on local news radio last night
Katz suffered a significant erosion of support in EVERY area of Philadelphia over his '99 numbers.
