But son-in-law was picked up in his car by the wind and slammed down on the road...Germantown. More storms forming as I type.

Tornadoes DO kill people. Incredible as they are to watch, they do incredible damage.

6. We Got a Warning in Silver Spring

The office PA announced a tornado warning until 4PM.

A couple of years ago a big tornado tore up College Park and Beltsville. It's amazing only two people were killed.

Come to think of it, I should check the weather before leaving.

7. My Daughter Angie Just Saw a Tornado!

Waiting at the bus stop. She went back in the school. She's 13 and usually has a pretty good head on her shoulders. For anyone in the area, this was on Layhill Rd in Northern Silver Spring (east of Aspen Hill).

On further questioning, she said it was "tornado clouds" that started to swirl and drop down but didn't form into a complete tornado.

There's definitely severe weather action down here today. Flash flood warnings, too. Will now go outside and see if it's raining.

14. Its been unusally warm here in Raleigh NC
