2. Worried about my cousin, she was brought up in March and then sent home
Her unit was activated for duty and sent to Fort McCoy where they prepared to be moved to Kuwait. They waited for about four weeks and then where sent home. They weren't needed. But now that theyt are swapping units out, I expect she'll get a call soon.
Another semester ruined for her. She already had to withdraw from classes last Spring, now she'll get screwed again. Poor girl.

3. this could be worse
than starting the draft back up. reservists ,i think, are not cheap young draftees, but well educated, family men and women with good jobs and economic roots into their community. after seeing what is happening to the guard and their fellow reservists i see these people as the hinge pin in bush`s election. the soldiers in iraq and their families back home will decide bush`s fate if they turn against him he`s gone..

4. They're also cheaper than regular troops
I read that they don't get the same pay or benefits as the active army.

Typical bush-hates-our-soldiers move - why pay more for cannon fodder (draft) when you can get the bodies for less?
