5. yup. it was perle blaming the CIA.
But Richard Perle, the then chairman of the Defense Policy Advisory Board, said in the weeks leading up to war with Iraq, he told the CIA but they refused the plan to meet with Iraqi officials to discuss a possible peace deal along the lines of the plan outlined by Hage to ABCNEWS.

"Although I was not enthusiastic about the offer, I was willing to meet with the Iraqis," Perle told ABCNEWS. "The United States government told me not to." Perle would not disclose which official or arm of the government rejected the talks.

DUH! what part of 'CIA' does this CBS writer not understand?

16. Why Would Perle Not Take That Directly to Bush?
Perle has a direct line to Cheney. Something so amazingly important -you would go to the CIA?? and not to the President (and mind you, not Tenet just "the CIA", like he means a rank and file officer or someone in a branch office).

This really really smells like more pilin' on the CIA. Bush fires Tenet, but Bush is unscathed.

11. This is damning! A genuine peace offer rebuffed by warmongers!

It is well worth reading the entire article. This proves that Bushco was hell-bent to go to war with Iraq, and he lied when he said war was his "last resort". Remember in March, 2002, when he told Condi and a group of 3 Rethugs in her office, "F*ck Saddam, we're taking him out!"

Bush lied to the American people, the Congress, the United Nations and the world!
If the Rethugs were not in charge of Congress, he would be impeached!

6. Isn't this the info
that Kerry is holding until after the Primaries? Didn't he recently say he had some blockbuster information from France and Germany about pre-war negotiations and he will release it at a later date?

thought it was SO big...it would hurt the shrub for 2004. Apparently, Kerry opened his mouth too soon.

14. THEY think so
then they can get their spin on it. Have all of their talking points released to Hannity, Coulter, Scarborough....then THEY can spin the hell out of it. Ya, that's pretty much how it works. :(

18. Bottom line is, PNAC wanted this war, Israel wanted this war, and
Bush/Cheney's Texas oil buddies wanted the war. All of the top principals of PNAC (Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith, Bolton, Abrams, et al) are allied with Sharon and his Likudniks, in fact, most of them have worked for Israel at one time or another. Throw in Cheney's greasy friends, and you have the making of one evil bunch of fascists.

Likewise, there are many "friends of Israel" among media owners and mangers, and though the story has been out for some time that Bush and his neonazicons have lied through their teeth to promote the war, the media has protected them, and buried every attempt to expose them. At some point though, one would hope for critical mass, where these people will no longer be able to contain the story.

An even bigger question, is what will these same media people do in the run up to the election? Will they side with Israel's "best friend", Bush, and promote him, along with Sharon and his allies in AIPAC? Exactly how much are we willing to let Israel control our foreign policy, and vis-a-vis their friends in PNAC and the media, involve itself in the running of our government, and our elections?
