1. The new Big Dog
Of course Clinton was like a St Bernard, while Clark is more of a, I dunno, a border collie? Dean's all pit bull. I still don't know if he's domesticated enough to keep from eating the children, but the boy's got bite.

Other canines in the "Pack"? Kerry is that coon dog from the Beverly Hill Billies; Edwards is a weimer; Sharpton is a dachshund; and Lieberman is, of course, a "pug".

What kind of dog is Bush? Snoopy in his Red Baron get up, halucinating that he can really fly a plane (or steer a ship of state for that matter).

28. Pointing the finger at Dean
because Dean again put Clark down in the debate, and Clark was not given a rebut....so he took a rebut at the commercial break.

That's why they've bombarded him with talking points while going easy on Dean. Just look at how some of them are defending Dean on the flag issue.

..who've voted for Kucinich.
Mr. Kucinich would be outvoted by a ratio of 5:1 against Bush, and thats WITHOUT a multi-pronged Republican smear campaign against him!

Why would the repubs fear one of their own?

Get the dimwitted Bush out of office and replace him with a studly wellspoken General and the MIC rolls on rightward..

10. Get serious.
Kucinich annoys me immensely, and some of his policies seem a little bit too 'outrageous' to me. He's short, ugly, and VERY leftwing.

And I'm left of most Americans.

Now imagine how America--as a whole--would feel about Kucinich.

Edited on Thu Nov-06-03 12:19 PM by livinontheedge
How many FIVE-star generals, including Shelton and Powell, will be out there saying Clark lacks integrity, is too unstable to serve as commander in chief, and is unfit???? These FIVE-star generals can easily discredit Clark. But they can't discredit Dean. Dean is the man Bush fears because he can't discredit him. He's anti-war but moderate overall. Bush's worst nightmare.

When Shelton came out againt Clark, General McCaffrey disagreed with Shelton and defended Clark.

43. Oh, I don't doubt that some generals will support Clark.
Problem is Clark worked for Shelton, not McCaffrey. Thus Shelton can blow Clark out of the water.

No one can blow Dean out of the water.

44. Not that big of a problem
I won't say that the Shelton criticism is not a negative. But he's not likely to repeat it, partly because of the military tradition of non-partisanship. If he does, Clark can find generals to make pro-clark ads to rebuke Shelton. Further, there was an article around that dissected the Shelton charge and proved it to be a smear based on flimsy innuendos and such.

I don't see it as an unsurmountable problem that will "blow clark out of the water."

Further, I think Dean has some negatives that are pretty substantial as well, and certainly of more weight than the Shelton smear. I'm not going to bash Dean, since I have a policy of trying to stay out of candidate bashing.

And if Clark is as candid on other issues as he was on gays in the military, I don't see how he is so Republican...at least not on social issues, and I don't really have problems with Pukes (no offense ;-) ) who are fiscally conservative, as long as they're socially conscious.

19. Who would you least like to face?
Bush would do better to debate Dean than Clark because Dean tends to press his advantage. People who attack Bush, make him look victimized and voters may feel sorry for him. After all, he's "doing his best".

Clark, instead, would eviscerate Bush with a few gentle twists of the knife and leave him dangling in the wind, wounded and bleeding. He'd make Bush look like a fool.

Of the two choices , I'd prefer the latter. Should Democrats choose Dean instead, I have no problem supporting him 100%.

Too bad, some of our fellow "progressives" are so blinded by hatred they refuse to accept the truth.

20. Gore certainly learned that in 2000
Gore should have won those debates in a walk. But a lot of people just felt that he was smug and, I'm sure, thought that he was picking on that poor dumb Texas governor.

It was a bit like Arnold Schwarzenegger picking a fight with Arnold Stang, I guess...

35. I have very strong positions on issues, but I won’t vote them.
My only criteria will be to vote the candidate most likely to beat the Chimp. It’s funny that I hadn’t been able to decide who that might be but voting in this poll was a no brainer. I guess it’s time too take a careful look at Clark.

This is NOT meant to start a flame-war, but clearly given the narrow margins that Dean wins on virtually ever "who would you vote for" DU poll, it seems logical to assume this is so.

45. Democratic death wish?
I think polls today, if correct, show Clark's numbers among Dems slipping. If we don't nominate this man --and Dean along with him, would be my choice -- I give up.

It's like what Al Franken wrote about Gore. God: I gave Gore the most votes -- that worked for other people. God to Dems: I gave you a smart, handsome, liberal four-star general to run against AWOL, post 9/11, in the middle of a disastrous war -- but you didn't nominate him.
