Public service announcement followed me home the other day
I paid it nevermind. Go away. Shits so thick you could stir it with a stick- free Teflon whitewashed presidency
We're sick of being jerked around
Wear that on your sleeve

Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord,
Count your blessings.
We're sick of being jerked around
We all fall down.

Have you ever seen the televised St. vitus subcommittee prize
Investigation dance? Those-ants-in- pants glances.
Well, look behind the eyes
It's a hallowed, hollow anesthesized
"save my own ass, screw these guys"
smoke and mirror lock down

Very cool song, sort of sounds like "End of the World".

Better yet you've probably all heard about the "Tell Us The Truth Tour" http://www.livedaily.com/news/5613.html with Steve Earle, Billy Bragg, Lester Chambers, and Tom Morello, yes? It's focus is Media distortions and misrepresentations, Fair Trade, Labor issues, et cetera.

Well guess who is appearing with their back-up band?

One guess...Give up? Mike Mills (Of REM)!

Jill Sobule will also be helping out with Ganeane Garafalo playing MC for the last couple of shows.

Not bad, eh?

1. There is a great song I like by them
I have to get it called "Texarkana". It is from the 80's, I have always liked that song.

2. At the Michael Moore appearance last week
they were playing REM before the program. I couldn't understand the words but I sure liked the music.

I had to ask some college students sitting behind me the name of the group. Think I'll look for the CD.

4. Yes, their '80s albums used to direct you to groups like
Amnesty International, Bread for the World, Greenpeace..
They are excellent and they really 'get it'.

6. They were all over television last week.
On the 'Tonight Show' (I know, I know) it was brought up the band is friends with Al Franken. Stipe took a couple of shots at O'Shrilly, for good measure, and wore a pair of pants that featured the number of disenfranchised Florida voters from the 2000 election.

I love 'Bad Day' but I just wish it was included on an album of all new material instead of re-issues.

11. That's great! If only more entertainers on "our side" would speak out.
That's the way to reach a lot of people who find politics "boring."

12. You're right. We need their help.
They have a voice that we simply don't have.
