1. what fuck-up?
Are you talking about his desire to get the votes of Americans who have confederate flag decals on their cars?

He said he "loathes" what the confederate flag stands for, and is trying to get the votes of people who have one on their car.

Would you suggest he not go after the votes of people who have "bush/chenney" bumper stickers, since we all loathe what those stand for as well.

4. This fuck up.
What is this if not a fuck up?

Howard Dean (news - web sites), trying to quell a politically damaging flap over the Confederate flag, belatedly apologized Wednesday for inflicting "a lot of pain on people" by urging Democrats to court Southerners who display the symbol of the Confederacy

Polished politicians don't have to make apologies for their comments. They think before they speak and learn to phrase their comments so not to offend one of the democrats key constituencies, i.e african americans.

3. Dean doesn't need saving.
That "fuck-up" was nothing but a desperate attempt by three losers to stop this very endorsement from happening. In the end, it won't even slow Dean down.

5. You are jumping the gun, SEIU has not endorsed anyone
and it may or may not endorse Dean when and if SEIU's executive board meets with Dean today (Thursday).

An endorsement by SEIU, if it actually becomes a reality, may help Dean get the endorsement of AFSCME, a strong antiwar union.
