1. Does Jessica have Alzheimer's
Watching my mother slowly fade away over the last few years makes me a litle sensitive.

I hope you never have any connection to it.

very sorry about your mother..

but I think the poster is referring to the fact that the Jessica Lynch move is a pack full of lies for the sole purpose of propaganda.

6. What about the fictional Bush movie a few months ago?
Neither the right nor the left had anything to say about that.

7. It wouldn't have made a difference
If the left slammed Showtime with thousands of letters they would just ignore it because the Conservative media like Joe Scarborough, Sean Hannity, etc. would whine about it non-stop and convince their viewers through manipulation of facts (as they always do) that liberals are off the deep end and trying to censor Showtime.

I wrote letters to CBS as part of the MoveOn.org letter writing campaign and saw that when I wrote my letter 1,400+ letters were already sent and that was like 2 hours into the campaign. So I know Moonves got a ton of liberal letters, he just chose to IGNORE them and succumb to the televised Republican Pressure.

If it were my movie I would air it and then have a little Republicans fact box that slammed Republicans for every illegal or close to illegal deceptive act they've pulled off in the past 3 years just to stick it to them harder.

8. 2427 was the final count
That was the final count of letters that were sent to Moonves. Of course it all was moot because by early afternoon that day CBS already had pulled the movie. :(

10. Money As Ratings As Politics As Money
I'll bet on Moonves' wipeboard this looked like a winner...a sweeps on Raygun...something the old folks would like. I'll bet he never knew anything more than the Production company and that was it.

And I'll bet if he did screen the film or read the script it was done under duress. In the initial days the hopes at Black Rock is that the hoopla would die down or increase interest in the movie...ratings...money. Then Moonves and Sumner Redstone and Mel Karmazin got phone calls from "friends"...like various CEO/golfing buddies about how uncomfortably they'd be spending their moolah on a hot potato. That's what the Right Wing does so well, they make so much noise, you can't help but hear them. Moonvez' decision was make for him. His only saving grace was to dump in on Showtime (which means I can see it dozens of times here when it runs...but I won't)

CBS caved to the same machinery that makes it run...public perception and impression. How else would someone watch people eating bugs?

Too bad the REAL Lynch story gets buried...and I think it's mostly by the Lynch family out of fear. Now there's a script currently writing itself.
