Is the noose tightning around McAuliffe?
I forgot about that point in the last line.

http://www.thehill.com/news/110603/mcauliffe.aspx

"Democrats across the country rallied to support Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe yesterday, a day after the party lost governorships in Kentucky and Mississippi and less than four weeks after losing the gubernatorial race in California.

But on a morning of bitter misgivings for Democrats there were also rumblings in Mississippi, California, New York, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere, with many party rank- and-file members complaining that the DNC has written off the South, taken black voters for granted...

...and picked a poor 2004 convention site in Boston.

1. I sure hope the noose is tightening
I sometimes think he's really a Republican in disguise and doing as
much as possible to ruin the democratic party. I can't stand
looking at him or hearing his voice anymore - had high hopes for the
party when he became head of the DNC but just one more disappointment
to add to my long list these past few years. He's always flashing
that toothy smile, even when things are looking so dismal, like after
we lost California - guess he thinks that happy face and those too
white teeth will keep our spirits up so we continue contributing to
the DNC. He reminds me of a slick used car salesman.

2. Everyone deserves a second chance
McAuliffe is on his fifth or sixth. I wrote him off as an effective leader when he "guaranteed" we would beat Jeb in 2002, and didn't deliver.

I am not the sort of voter or party worker who asks for a lot of promises. I understand that politics is the art of the possible, and that we elect a President, not an all-powerful King, who must work with the Congress to get things done.

But, doggone it all, if you make me a promise, I expect you to come through. If you don't, you can't expect me to trust your word next time.

I am sick to death of hearing how losses are really wins. My alma mater has a full cheerleading squad if I'm ever in need of a lot of rah-rah-rah. When McAuliffe said Ahnald's win in California spelled trouble for Bush, I almost tossed my cookies.

Hey, Terry, how about just WIN one once in a while? Then you can go on TV and proclaim victory without that fake face.

5. In Florida, he delivered "the safe candidate". The strategy flopped.

In Florida, he delivered "the safe candidate" as compared to the one
who actually had enough fire in her belly to go up against a Bush,
mano-a-mano. The strategy flopped. The safe candidate coasted to a
nice, safe Democratic defeat.

Stop playing it safe, Democrats! Go with candidates who actually want
to kick Bush ass (metaphoricall, if not downright physically). Stop
listening to "Democratic" leaders who are urging you to play it safe!
At this point, there's precious little left to lose by adopting a
new strategery (sic).

Do this, and you might actually win a race or two.

4. He needs to go
And if John Edwards would be willing to drop his campaign this time, we need to get him to take the job.

8. John Edwards is A Good suggestion
I have been trying to come with ideas on who would replace Terry. John is a good suggestion, although I don't know if he wants a strictly political position. Any other thoughts?

10. CMB
She'd be good and I bet she'd jump at it. But we need a fundraiser and I'm not sure she could do that as well as Edwards. Although McAuliffe has put good practices in place, maybe she'd just need to follow through with them. Teresa Heinz, she'd turn this party on its head! I don't know, but we've got to slap that donkey. And, gads no, I don't want Al in charge of the DNC! I don't really know how they choose these people, it doesn't seem to be politicians who take these positions. But McAuliffe needs to GO!

11. Edwards is qualified
He has actually run for something and won it.

McAuliffe's only qualifications were that he was friends with the Clintons and he had lots of rich friends who gave him money.

Hardly qualifications for head of a national party.

14. I've been saying it for ages . . .
the man's got to go. As an ordinary Dem I feel real frsutrated about this. Hasn't the democratic leadership got it? McAuliffe has been responsible for one loss after another. . . .major losses at that! What do the democrats want? To be stomped on by the repukes permanently? For heaven's sake let's get real.

15. I'll never forget McAuliffe going up against Bushevik Capo Racicot
on Meet the Whore with Bushevik Button Russert.

They were discussing the gruesome 2002 attacks on Max Cleland. Even Russert was somewhat aghast, proving that he isn't 100% whore, only 97%.

For one brief moment, Russert Whore was giving McAuliffe the treatment he usually gives his Bushevik Masters, leaning to his side and pitching softballs.

Racicot was calmly dispensing Bushevik hogwash that the attacks were justified blah blah blah.

McAuliffe sat stone faced and timid, refusing even to whomp the softballs or show some outrage at the craven attacks.

I sat slack-jawed.

With friends like McAuliffe, we migth as well get ready for the Gulags.

Bye bye, Terry. We need someone with some balls!
