I have been watching him chair the hearings, and he's a bulldog when he questions these crooks.. He does not let them give weasely answers and presses them when they start to spin..

Every other republican-chaired hearing I have watched, the senator or congresscritter gives a 5 minute speech which contains all the "inforation" they expect the questionee to parrot back to them, and then they spend the rest of their "time allotted" to make snarky comments about the "colleagues across the aisle (Dems),.. By the time they get around to asking a question, it might as well be .."Rocky Road, or Chocolate chip?"..

He's doing a good job on these hearings..

My only complaint?... Why do they only "notice" the HUMONGOUS fraud, AFTER the crooks have absconded with all the money ??..

I always thought (mistakenly) that the congressional committees were responsible for OVERSIGHT , so that the frauds could not occur in the first place..

3. Moderate Republican
comparable to DLC Democrat.

Guardian of the status quo for the most part. We have had better Reps from Bucks county, PA.

4. He's my rep
OK for a Republican, but recently he's been pandering to the enormous number of fundies we have down-county.

In one case, he berated a teenager who asked him a pointed question during one of those bogus "teens meet the politician" assemblies. He told the kid that "speech has consequences".

Which, in light of USA-PATRIOT, I guess really is true.

5. Well there was a Mex-Am that was on banking and yelled very loud
about the Saving and Loan but well he was Mex-Am so not one person heard him. He said it over and over.Long before any thing came out on it, I recall hearing him as when I grew up my father always told me to stay away from them. Banks were so different when I grew up and you had to know which banks did what so you learned by their name or in our family you did.You know, which was ins. which would let you have checking etc. Banking is sort of easy now but you had to hunt even in the 50's for what you wanted and needed. So keep your ears open and see what some are really saying.I did believe this guy but had been drilled in the thought that Saving and Loads were un-safe. I said Yes father was right, but my view was slanted to start.

Greenwood and thought the same thing (he's not too bad for a repuke) but then he started giving Martha Stewart a really hard time and I thought he should be directing the same attention to Enron as he had to Martha, who is small potatoes compared to those crooks at Enron...

Here's a google search on Greenwood's comments about Martha:
