What have I got to do to get through to CSpan?

I must have redialed 40 times before I got a ring. When I got a ring, my cell phone service disconnected after a dozen rings. So I used my land line and 10-10-297 then 10-10-811. Each of those long distance services disconnected after a few minutes of ringing. I don't have long distance service on my phone, so I use the cheap 5 cent/minute-type services.

I am not just griping, I am looking for advice or experiences.

1. Have you called into CSpan lately?

If you have called into CSpan within the last 30 days, you will not get in.

However, it is always difficult when there is someone important on.

You should call like 3 minutes before the guest comes on.

Other than that, it is plain luck.

I like your "call 3 minutes before the guest is on" idea. I was all pumped up and ready to rip, too. Does Gale Norton count as someone important??? :evilgrin:

call as soon as the phone numbers are put up on the screen then redial several times and hopefully you are in. They ask where you are from, ( mute your TV!) then you hear the caller right before you talking, when that caller is done you are on! Be Prepared! I was not as well prepared as I sould have been and I was a little nervous. I will do better next time!

so I couldn't help you there, but if you had gotten on, what was the point you wanted to make? Were you trying to get in on open phones or for a particular guest?

6. I was gonna rip Interior Sec'y Gale Norton to shreds (figuratively)

The "Healthy Forests Initiative" is a give away to timber companies. They will get paid with prime trees to go in and clear the "fire hazard" understory.

10. Don't you just "love"

the Orwellian names they come up with for their plans? What, you mean you are voting AGAINST the Healthy Forests Initiative? It always makes doing the right thing sound so wrong, but then again, that's the whole point, isn't it?

I got through the first time I called (after Wellstone memorial). I had to wait awhile on hold, but I was shocked it rang the first time I called.
