Bush at 48 percent approval, 52 disapproval in Zogby poll
His reelect's at 41 percent; 43 percent think he deserves reelection and 49 percent think it's time for someone new.

I don't know about you, but I needed some good news after our gubernatorial losses Tuesday. :)

1. Is this the first time disapproval has exceeded approval?
49%/someone new - is excellent!

2. I think it may be. Might be lower than his pre- Sept. 11 numbers.
Good news but hardly worth jumping for joy over. Novemeber 04 seems so long from now.

5. No
He was under 50 percent once before 9/11, and he's been under 50 percent three times in the last two months in Zogby, which measures likely voters.

4. If wishes were chocolates, your "he's going down..." would be
a triple-decker chocolate-covered chocolate decadence truffle with fudge topping. And whipped cream and a cherry. It's my prayer first thing every morning and the last thing every night. May he INDEED go down, and down ugly. He's got an entire lifetime of overdue karma to face.

7. The moment I have been waiting for!
He dropped below 50%. This is a poll I really, really, really want to believe.

8. I don't think that is the really relavent data.
48% think he is doing an excellent to good job.

That is bad news.

52% think he is doing a fair to poor job.

Do you vote against someone doing a fair job? Fair is ok. Not horrible just ok.

The more relavent numbers are 56% approve 42% disapprove.

I see a split country just like in 2000. Bush will have all the advantages and disadvantages of an incumbent

9. We will still need a good candidate.
Among those fifty-two percent in the Zogby poll are many people who think Bush is doing a fair, not a poor, job. We will still need a darned good candidate and some luck to defeat Bush.

12. It's good news but...

It's been a split for a while now, floating within a 10% margin.

I want more than that to be really happy. They stole an election with things this close.

13. more details here

John Zogby: "...Tied. Republicans are solidly with the President, Democrats are solidly against him, Independents are mixed – though slightly against the President today. Just as Democrats were angry about a stolen election in late 2000 and early 2001, they are angry again today. And their anger is not about to dissipate. The battle lines for the 2004 election are drawn. We are already set for a highly partisan election. Democrats in 2003 tried to persuade soft Republicans that the President’s tax and economic policies are failed, though there may be the beginning signs of a recovery. Republicans are bolstered by a President who is popular among Republicans.

“Despite sharing a horrific terrorist attack and the euphoria of a military victory to topple a tyrant, there is no national unity.

“Republicans stand by their man, but on the other hand, Democrats are intensely against him. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan: here we go again.”

15. Does your mommy know the filth that comes off of your fingers?
Have you told your conservative friends about your fantasies? Whatever do they think?

Family values, indeed.
