New spin on Jessica Lynch story.
During the homecoming coverage (can't remember which network) it was mentioned that the original story of Jessica blasting away til the bitter end was due to interpreters mistaking the arabic word for "he" for "she". They now think this soldier was Jim Kiehl. Is this just another spin to explain the previous spin that was exposed? I've looked this morning, and I can't find the statement in print yet. Anyone else hear this?

2. no, but I'd be interested in hearing from Arabic linguists
as "he" and "she" might or might not be similar sounding even to iffy translators plus, I'd like to know if there are any gendered endings to words that would have to be used in such a sentence. That is, is it only a single word that could have been mispronounced/misheard or would you have to "misunderstand" an entire speech that obviously referred to a female (or male) to come up with this?

They will try to crawl out of this any way that they can once they wring it of all the emotion they can. If the press did their job then or now, this house of cards propaganda story would not even be an issue.

4. I think they are similar in most languages.
Of the four I speak all four sound similar. Turkish, one of my languages, is a language that is quite similar to Arabic.

3. Yes, I heard it this morning on ABC
They intereviewed the dead soldiers' mother, who said she wants her son given the credit for doing the shooting until the bitter end. If this is true, this soldier's life meant nothing in comparison to the "feel good Jessie" rescue story. Here is a grieving mother, who just now learns her dead son was the one who fought off the Iraqi's to the bitter end? It seems implausible that the interpreters could have done such a thing as "mix up" he and she in their interpreting. Geez, when will this misadministration stop spinning this shit?

This is another mother grieving the loss of her son forced to watch the parades, the glory and the honor that Ms. Lynch is afforded, while her son is dead and buried - and forgotten. Despicable.
