All Adults------------ Reliable----- Not Reliable---- Net
Fox News ---------------72% ---------14%---- +58%
Local Newspaper --------73% ---------21% ----+52%
Wall Street Journal------ 59% ---------11%---- +48%
CNN ---------------------66% ---------21%---- +45%
NY Times--------------- 46%--------- 23%---- +23%

(Notice the "Fair and Balanced" headline)
Just 46% Consider NY Times Reliable

Just 46% of Americans believe that information reported in the New York Times is "very reliable" or "somewhat reliable." Twenty-three percent (23%) say information in the Times is "not very reliable" or "not at all reliable."

Roughly a third of the adults surveyed had no opinion as to the reliability of data from either the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal. There was greater familiarity with CNN and the Fox News Channel.

6. FOX delivers
Exactly. FOX is reliable in that they speak for their audience and stay on message.

The rest are now trying to swing to the right to play "catch up with FOX", thus rendering themselves irrelevant.

Sound like the Democrats, no?

3. Rassmusen Is A JOKE
He had Bush leading Gore by seven percentage points on Election Day. Most reliable polls had it a 2-3% race in favor of Bush and I believe the CBS poll, the Harris Poll, the Newsweek poll, and the Zogby poll had them even or Gore slightly ahead.

4. I happened to see the first time he was on Fox
At leas tthe first time I ran into his name. Hume was bending over backwards to establish how accurate and reliable Rasmussen was. Red flags shot up all over the place and I noted the name as obviously Fox's in house pollster.

If'n I haven't before Welcome to DU :hi:

8. They are pretty reliable...
Without fail, whenever I flip by the channel I still find that it is complete garbage. I would say that they are pretty reliable in that respect. :silly:

10. Their sample was skewed
Poor work. I would have expected Fox to probably be about equal to CNN in reliability. Most likely they didn't weight the sample to account for viewership. Fox supposedly is the ratings leader and a pure random sample would have produced a higher percentage of Fox viewers. But if they want only perception of reliability, they should have discounted this. If in fact they did discount the Fox viewership, the poll would be saying that those that watch both CNN and Fox find Fox more reliable which I find extremely hard to believe. So I think this is probably where the error is.

19. This was purchased by the WH propaganda team
It is meaningless. They are trying to establish their credibility by pretending via a bogus poll that their primary propaganda moutpiece, Faux, is credible. Same as rolling McCain out to say that the "ends justifies the means"

11. Damning with faint praise. At least FOX knows what it wants to be
All the other media outlets are trying to figure out what they are. They follow FOX, then they retreat, then they go halfway back, then they do that goofy thing where they get some of their employees to outFOX FOX while the other half try to appease the liberals.

FOX is the one eyed king in a garden of blind sycophants.

16. ha, I saw that...
I laughed pretty hard when he said that. I have to agree with him though, I would love to see a 24 hour Daily Show type channel. Sure he throws a lot of humor out there, but when it really comes down to it his message is the truth.

20. Nobody reads
That's all this survey proves. 1/3 had no opinion on the reliability of the NYT or the WSJ???? And if they surveyed people who believe Foxnews is reliable, obviously they're going to think everything else isn't because Foxnews said so. Ugh.
